Pasadena Rose & Crown Hotel - Hotel in Pasadena - 1203 E Colorado Blvd, USA

We came for the Cruel World Festival at the Rose Bowl and hotel prices were about triple the average. Many people recommended Rose and Crown for a somewhat better priced option - and we were quite pleased. Yes... It was over double what one would pay normally... But still cheaper than the chains in the area. Located somewhat away from the downtown core, you can still get to everything quickly. It took less that 20 minutes to get to the Rose Bowl, and if you've driven around here... You know that is quick. The rooms are extremely clean. The bathroom was well lit with a walk in shower. Each room has a mini fridge and microwave. Our bed was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was very friendly. Parking was easy in the lot and free. We didn't have any issues in the lot. It was quiet in our room... We didn't get a lot of noise. From the pictures, it's hard to tell if there's an elevator... There is. It's easy to access. Recommend for a comfortable, clean, less expensive option. We will return!

First, the GOOD - This was easily one of the cleanest motels I've ever stayed in - the rooms literally FEEL clean. 5 stars on that. Location is handy too. However, the BAD - if you're here with the intention to get a good night's sleep - 100% stay ELSEWHERE. I was given room 104 last night and there was a herd of elephants upstairs moving around, making noise until after midnight. It gave me major pause, but after 13 hours of driving, I was too exhausted to re-pack up and leave. They finally settled down and all went quiet so I figured it might be okay. The bed was OK - not plush by any means and creaky but...alright. However, the noise started before 7am again...Tromping feet, traffic noise and soon followed by the cleaning staff, vacuums, voices, sounded like heavy rolling carts, noise noise noise, upstairs and on the other side of the wall right by my head. Then hammering outside (no idea what it was began at 9:30am) Crazy. I would like to tell you how breakfast was, but I was literally too exhausted to drag myself up between 6am-9am to go try it. Are there quieter rooms? No idea. But would I recommend this place to anyone else based on my experience, absolutely not! Clean is great but sleep is just as important and this motel did NOT provide that for $135 .

Such a well appointed motel in a great location with staff that go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are an excellent size with great layout and furniture, and you are five minutes from Caltech, shopping and restaurants. The pool was great, breakfast was nice, and the management helped us to get our daughter’s wheelchair and safety stool shipped ahead of our arrival.

We came to stay here for Cruel World and this hotel could not have been more perfectly placed. An easy shuttle ride from Old Pasadena to the Rose Bowl where the festival was situated and also, a great base for accessing Universal Studios and Disneyland. Wonderful for first time travellers like us. The hotel was clean, with lovely comfy beds and the gym although small, was perfectly adequate and I used most days. David the manager was so helpful suggesting places to visit in the local area. Breakfast was substantial and inclusive. We would definitely return.

Rien à dire. Chambre propre et très bien entretenue. Spacieuse. Douche sans rideau mais avec paroi douche en verre! Piscine propre où nous y étions seul. Bon rapport qualité prix. Assez calme. Je recommande pour petit budget👍👍

This Hotel is an absolute hidden gem. It has everything for a nice, comfortable, quiet and complete stay. The price is also perfect for what it offers. It has all the amenities and services of a full blown 4/5 star hotel. Breakfast is nice, beds are super comfortable, modern looking rooms, clean, fee parking, staff is nice. You absolutely cannot make a mistake by choosing to stay here.

Chambres refaites à neuf, chambre faite tous les jours si on y passe plusieurs jours. Parking gratuit, petit-dej plutôt bien, machine à laver et sèche linge à dispo. Plusieurs restaurants autour sans devoir retour à LA

We normally stay at the Marriott or Westin. But have also stayed at the Sheraton & Hilton all I. Pasadena. I gotta say This place excised my expectations for a last minute booking I didn’t not expect such a nicely older renovated hotel. Rooms were just as nice & clean if not better than some from more expensive hotels. Good parking, good location. They even have breakfast, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc..
