The rooms were clean but had a very distinct smell. Bed was mediocre and bath towels grungy looking. The walls are paper thin. We could hear every bit of the neighbor’s conversations and their children crying. The hotel is older and in definite need of an upgrade and good cleaning. Our patio had not been cleaned and chairs and patio was spotted with bird crap. Our stay was a last minute decision and I was happy about getting a room with a walkout patio towards the lake and felt our rate was pretty good considering. However, now that I have been here it certainly was not worth $450/night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were happy with our meal and service in the lounge.

Our first time in Traverse City. The hotel was nice and quiet, which we loved! The beach was well kept and the views from the room were also wonderful. We loved that the pool was heated and the hot tub was a really nice size. The pool could probably use some TLC as it is older but the kids loved. We were able to use a fire pit one night, and were also glad to be able to purchase wood right in the lobby. The restaurant was convenient and had good service. The hotel is older which is why I gave one category only 4 stars but I would still highly recommend. Only negative I have is - we were disappointed that there was not a continental breakfast. They apparently charge for breakfast only in the summer. I read all the reviews and was expecting this. Not a big deal but we had a bunch of small kids and didn’t want to sit for breakfast plus kids like the continental type stuff better anyway. There were plenty of lounge chairs at the beach and kids loved all the ducks/baby ducks they could feed and chase around. We’d def stay again.

Check in was easy . Front desk attendant seemed tired but had us on your way quickly . Hallways were carpeted that needed a good cleaning . Rooms attempted to be made modern by new paint but it was obvious it was minimal effort . Cleaning of the room could be better dust on fixtures ,headboards , picture frames . Ac didnt work well at the lowest setting . Dead bugs caked on the corner of the balcony . Bed was okay not the best not the worst I've been in at a hotel . Checkout was easy as well, attendant didn't seem to care to ask how our Stay was ect .. very lack luster hotel and experience. For what we paid the price is way to high for what you get . I though a non chain hotel would be a better experience but unfortunately it was not . I would not return to this hotel if ever in the area again .

You can't beat the location. You step out the back and onto the beach. There are lounge chairs all down the beach. They have a nice indoor pool and hot tub as well. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay for breakfast but it looked like they have a good one. It doesn't start until 8 though. That is much later than most hotels. They had nice clean rooms, excellent showers, and a nice laundry room with a utility sink as well. Very nice. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed the place. Very conveniently located right on the beach with great views and private deck chairs and beach. Service was very friendly, shower is hot and amazing, rooms are clean and freshened up daily. Very close to Traverse City attractions. My kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and the hotel pool. This part of the beach is also a duck hangout and got to see little ducklings swimming. Great place to stay.

Couldn’t even stay there! Lasted 2 hours of which we weren’t even in the room. And non-refundable room! Almost $400 for one night. SAVE your money and look at all review before going!! Got the hotel because I just proposed to my girlfriend and thought it was a nice waterfront resort. This hotel is anything but a resort. I have a fear of bugs being in hotel rooms and when I checked the reviews on a different websites I lost my appetite and the will to stay there. This place needs to be shut down at this point.

Room was nice but the beds were terrible hard as a rock..and the kids bunk beds are old spring mattresses..but there was lots of room and the view from the balcony was amazing.. The pool was saltwater and was not expecting that so be ready if u use that. The side door that takes a key card was unlocked so anyone could just come and go. Was not impressed with that for the price i paid for this room. Personally i will find a different place next time im in town.

Older, but nicely renovated hotel. The room was standard with two queen beds. The view was of the bay and the neighboring hotel. The rain shower head was a nice touch, but there wasn't enough water pressure to function properly. There were plenty of beach loungers, but the weather was cool and rainy, so we didn't sit on the beach other than to watch a sunset. Overall, I'd stay there again.
