Pancake House - Breakfast restaurant in New Carrollton - 7701 Garrison Rd, USA

I frequent the pancake House and La Plata Maryland which closed down about 10 to 15 years ago. It was open for about 40 to 50 years. I never knew there was one in the DC area. Food is pretty good

This was my first breakfast date & the food was amazing! So good I started dancing LOL!!! The Atmosphere is a hole in the wall but when you taste the food & the customer service it makes up for everything! They also do their very best at cleaning & I appreciate that :)

Perfect place for a quick pancake breakfast. The coffee was good as well. The layout could use a little bit of work, you almost have to clean your own table, but the food is good.

So it’s been 20 years since my wife and I visited Maryland and had breakfast there. It was a cold windy day and we stood in a line that wrapped around the building, for probably an hour. Once inside and seated we had a breakfast experience that we still talk about to our family , friends, and even strangers 20 years later. The food was fantastic, everyone we met both standing in line and the employees inside were such great people. It’s an experience neither one of us will ever forget, and I am so thankful to have had the pleasure of eating a single meal there.

Love love love the people here and the food is so good. I love the chicken and waffles. Just the Atmosphere is not the best. They have seats to sit. But it's cold there and just not inviting to stay. Must eat from here, just get the food to go. 😊

Place looks abandoned. Like actually looks like a crack den, so I was surprised that it had so many good reviews. I'm sure the food is good but the outside and inside look SCARY. I don't blame any woman not wanting to go in there alone...

It's not what it used to be. I was looking forward to having breakfast after not being there since the public health emergency. I'll admit, I was there more for nostalgia so I was disappointed. They had half the seating, and no sign letting you know you had to go up front and order. I gave a 20% tip, but really, there was no table service. The same waitress who has been there forever was manning the cash register. No smile or thank you at all, though. She just looked so unhappy being there. But that might not be a change. Pancakes were good. I asked for the scrapple to be fried hard. They made it black, but it still tasted pretty good. They handed you everything in a bag - it was basically take out, but in the restaurant. I can see that they have streamlined operations with less staff and no dishes to wash. Smart I guess, but not a pleasant experience. However, there was also no standing in line waiting for a table to stake out. A good idea for takeout I think but the old atmosphere is in the rear view.

We were so hungry and looking for a breakfast spot to go to before we hit the road back home. we stopped at another spot but they did not have social distance and when I called this place and asked if they had social distinct seating, they did. I think most people forget that we are still in a pandemic and distancing yourself from others is important. I was happy to see that not only were the seating spaced out, but the food was served in complete plastic containers plastic spoons plastic forks plastic cups. No server you order your food and you sit down. I would definitely go here again. The food was delicious the price was right and the place made me feel safe about eating out.
