Palmoro House - Hotel in Santa Barbara - 424 Por La Mar Dr, USA

*DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL* I booked two reservations at Palmoro House and both were horrible experiences. The first didn't even happen because they canceled it with absolutely no warning. I was at the rehearsal dinner for my wedding, when I got a call. I didn't answer, obviously, and when I got back to my room I sent my sister to check in at the hotel. They told us they had no record of the reservation and when I went into my email to get the confirmation, I saw that they had cancelled my reservation- FOUR MINUTES after getting the initial call from them at dinner. They claimed that they couldn't process my payment and after "multiple attempts at reaching out" they canceled my reservation. Except, the only time they attempted to reach out was from an unknown number 4 minutes before they canceled. I have numerous emails confirming my reservation, having no issues, and even one an hour before they called me letting me know I could check in online. They then told us they were completely booked so I couldn't rebook the room and offered no alternative solution. So my sister didn't have a room on the night before my wedding. And the most annoying part of this whole thing is that I used the same exact card on a different reservation. That reservation had no issue being charged to my card. They also claimed that they pre charge all the reservations, which is a lie. I made the reservations a few weeks apart, and the room was not charged to my card until check in. The friend who was able to stay in the hotel had a horrible experience. They had to move rooms TWICE because he kept finding spiders and other bugs in his bed and throughout the room. This hotel was dirty, had horrible service, and lied on multiple occasions. I would not stay at this hotel!

Excellent Customer Service. This location is literally a couple of minutes from the beach, at a private and gated location. The spacious and updated room was lovely and it boasted a cozy balcony. The bathroom was also large and was very clean. Luxurious cotton robes are available for use, as well as full size hair products in the shower. Large and late model TV. I did have a problem with the digital key, but customer service gladly sent a valet with key cards. All in all, it was a great value for the location. Note that this property is situated away from the main hotel, Mar Monte. There is no lobby. Free street parking.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the other reviews. The room was super-clean and spacious, very comparable to the sister property Mar Monte's rooms. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi and poolside service, highly recommend the Italian Mojito! Huge TV with hassle-free streaming. Very close to the Zoo, East Beach, and the Funk zone. We loved it, can't wait to return next year!

Positive: Close to downtown and the restaurants, also close to the college (Westmont). We were there to attend our son's track meet. Negative: No dressers to put your clothes away! And the smell of the elevator and lobby areas. I think new carpeting might take care of that. It's dated, but decent. No real complaints. Negative: ""

First off, we booked this hotel through a booking site and only received a reminder that our card would be charged. We never received an email with any information. So after driving 4 hours to get here we arrived to Palmoro house to closed gates with no way to get in. We had to look up the hotel online and then call. When we called they answered the phone “Mar Monte hotel.” Needless to say we were very confused. She let us know that where we are staying is an off property hotel and that we needed to come to the Mar monte to check in and then drive to our hotel. Not once did we receive any type of email letting us know that this would be the process. When we finally got to our room, well let’s just say it’s very small. You open the door directly to the vanity sink. I will say that the room was very clean. That was about the only plus to it. The bathroom (shower and toilet) are around the corner , about two feet away from the bed. Let’s talk about having absolutely zero privacy. If you need extra towels or a blanket forget about it cause you’re out in this little house all alone. The walls are so thin we could literally hear conversations happening in the rooms next to us. The bed was so uncomfortable. I tossed and turned the whole night and didn’t really get any sleep due to not being able to get comfortable. Also, he prepared to be woken up from hearing the neighbors getting ice at 4:50am. Also, if you turn on the AC cause it gets hot at night, the unit will drip water the entire rest of the night (whether it’s on or not) causing you’re entire family to want to rip their hair out from the torture of the noise. The AC is covered by a wooden wall so there is no way to even access it to try and put a towel or anything. Lastly, the cleaning people coming early in the morning slamming doors and what sounds like literally banging on walls. Needless to say this hotel left a very bad taste in our mouths and we will not be staying here again. Oh and no matter where you park in the parking lot your car will be COVERED in tree sap. We had to go to the car wash right away because if you don’t get it off it can ruin your paint. Just an extra little gift they give you upon check out.

Positive: Nothing. Negative: Palmoro house is not in the main building of Marmonte hotel and it does not have same facilities as a resort but they still charge resort fee of $30. Phone line was so bad, we couldn't even call front desk. Didn't even provide enough coffee mugs or glasse Negative: ""

I recently booked the Palmero Hotel off Hotel Tonight since the photos advertised look stylish, clean and beachside. I arrived in the nighttime for check in. Unfortunately I was uninformed that there would be no one to check me in upon arrival at the actual Palmero Property located at 424 Por La Mor Drive. In addition this property was poorly lit, locked, and had a low to the ground gate you could easily climb. Across from the Palmero are train tracks, and a park which has some scrupulous looking characters, and individuals clearly on drugs or addicted to them. When I went to the front door of the Palmero there was a number to call which instructed to go to Monte Mar Hotel to check in which was 3 blocks away. You still have to get out of your car to use your key card and at night it didn’t feel safe at all and even in the daytime I was nervous as a woman was wildly screaming and throwing herself around on drugs. This is not where you want to stay but looks different advertised because they are posting Mar Monte Hotel. You get to use the Mar Monte’s facilities but that doesn’t do much good when it’s not safe to walk there and it’s driving 3 blocks away.

Palmoro House pictures are misleading. It is not located facing the beach. It is somewhat secluded and the hotel staff will “occasionally” go there. There is a park in front of the property with suspicious people loitering around.
