Palm Motel - Featured Reviews (273)
Stayed here in July on our tour of the Pacific Coastal Highway. One of the cheaper places to stay in Santa Monica. Great bang for your buck. Rooms were clean with plenty of space for my wife and I. The staff were friendly and approachable. Awesome location only about a 10 of 15 minute walk to the beach. Would absolutely stay again!
Found this little gem looking for dog friendly motels near the beach. If you want a “cookie cutter” room with standard features, this might not be for you…We wanted a classic beach area rental and loved it! 😀 It felt like an old Route 66 motor inn!…reasonable price, clean & safe, absolutely…plus lots of charm & local flavor…adorable bungalow style…each with a table & chairs outside! So much fun!! What more could you want?! By the way….the owner is wonderful, friendly & helpful…and, your dogs are welcome!! Pennie & Joe say paws up for Palm Motel 🐾🐾
When looking for hotels/motels near Santa Monica it got really overwhelming with the price of most if the places near by especially with us staying for around 4 nights. I found this place and loved the way it looked as well as the price. When we arrived it was very cute! The outside was covered in flowers and they had seats and tables outside each room so we could all eat together easily as well as just hanging out outside. The staff was very friendly and they did really well at cleaning even after we went to the beach(so much sand!). The rooms were a bit dated and the TV was not super large but it was perfect for what we needed it for. The only downsides we had was that there was no air conditioning and no microwave. There is a lot of food places nearby and a gas station right next store. We all had an amazing time staying here and we will definitely try to book here during our next trip!!
Nice enough motel, vintage and with cute outdoor decor. Rooms are basic but good for the price and in the location. My complaints come from the service at check in. We arrive at 5pm after a tiring day of travel only to find a note on the check in window that says "Office closed. Will reopen at 6:30" What kind of motel closes at prime check in time? Other signs such as "No mask, no service", "Smile you're on camera", along with LA's weekly Covid count also attributed to an unwelcoming atmosphere. Forcing us to an early dinner, we returned at 6:30 and were able to check in. My advice would be to be open, be welcoming, and keep the Covid lunacy to a minimum.
We had to stay here for only one night thank goodness. We were here for a funeral so we needed something convenient. No heat in the room and the bathroom had hair that was not ours. I tried to call front office about the heat and no one answered. The beds were hard and made lots of noise, pillows were awful and it was difficult to sleep. I would pay more money to stay somewhere more comfortable.
Comfortable bed. Nice sheets. Competent desk and housekeeping staff. We’ll managed, none of the shenanigans you might expect from a cheap motel in this part of town. Outdoor seating and tables are a nice amenity. Rooms are small and simple. We’ll maintained but showing a lot of age. Shower is smaller than a closet. No air conditioning. Traffic noise but no voices from adjacent rooms or street.
You cannot beat the price in the Santa Monica area. Nice staff clean and safe parking included This place is older but cute. Greek style bungalows with outdoor seating 14 blocks from the beach. Would stay here again
Stayed off season. Owner was kind and very helpful. Rooms lil dated but clean. Was cold when there and heater set of smoke detector. Then chirped until I removed. Came back to room around 11:30 after been continuously raining to a roof leak that flooded most bathroom floor. Needless to say overnight stay was not a good one. Rooms are good location serve purpose. Unfortunately being off season owner not on premises as much so unable to discuss experience. Neither would happen in typical vacation season, not much rain and no need for heat
I've stayed here every Christmas for quite a few years (over a decade) and it is something I look forward to, still, to this day, every year. It is family owned and affordable lodging in an amazing location. It is a few minutes walk to the beach and
Iâve been working with the DMN8 staff since the pandemic and to say these people are wonderful is an understatement. Now that the gym is open skies the limit!
In A Nutshell: -Beach Yoga SoCal provides daily yoga classes in the morning & evenings. -I really enjoyed doing yoga on the beach during the sunset. -The cool ocean breeze, the smells of the sea, the sound of the waves & the soft sand give another d
