So happy that my boyfriend and I got to try this new bakery today. Such a great find! It's usually hard for me to like a pastry and I was skeptical at first. However, I was in love at first bite! The staffs are also very friendly. I had a small feedback to help the shop improve its service and she took my comments very seriously! There were so many options but we ended up with a mini apple turnover, sweet potato mochi pie, chocolate croissant and a loaf of rye bread. The shop is clean and nicely decorated too. Definitely will come back!

I went to get a cake for my son's birthday and I asked specifically one filling of custard, and when I got home there was no custard filling. The little cake was for 4 people and I could not believe the price, $45.00. The taste was not as good as it used to be. I used to go to Palisades Park bakery for my son's birthday's cakes since 1997. The prices now are out of this world, I guess they want to get back the money spent on renovations from the customers now. Don't waste your money in this place, it's not worth it. Times might have changed but that is not an excuse to rip off people !!!

Pal Park Bakery is now officially open!!! Pecan Custard is also back and just as good as the original. They have cookies and scones, looks so yummy will try during my next visit. I came earlier the pecan custard was sold out, came back again and one left!!! Thank You for reopening my favorite bakery. Please bring back other favorites like the pecan pastry and elephant ears.

This place is absolutely amazing, the service is world class and the dessert are out of this world! They also have a large variety of sweets and cakes for special occasions. They are open till very late so this is a great place to go to hang with friends and enjoy a great selection of hot and cold drinks. So glad my wife brought me here, will definitely be coming back soon.

Despite the bad reviews and nostalgia seekers objecting to the new look, I stopped in today to find the classic Pecan Custard Ring waiting in the case for me ; ) It was as delicious as I remember it from years past. The new owners have elevated what was a grab and go old fashioned bakery( which I loved) , into a real cafe, so you can sit and enjoy a coffee with a pastry. After decades of visiting and seeing the familiar painted murals of farmers harvesting wheat high on the walls, the neatly lined breads and pastries, the cheery and always friendly welcoming staff, this was definitely an adjustment. Palisades Park Bakery was a local institution beloved by many. Most people didn't realize how much they loved it until it was gone. As for me, Ill always love PPB with or without the facelift. I wish the new owners much success.

Visited the bakery yesterday, and it was well worth every dollar I spend. The Pecan cream ring tasted just how I remembered when I was a kid. I also bought one double chocolate cookie, which was amazing!! I wish I bough more. The staff was super nice and helpful. I grew up in pal park, and the bakery was always the go to spot for our desserts. Keep it going and no slacking on the deliciousness. Going back today for more cookies😁

I am an old school Pal Park girl. I grew up in the town in the 70s/80s. My family lived here a generation before me and my grandparents immigrated from Italy. I remember as a little girl walking into this place with the display cases and moving shelves with the cake inside. Half the time my Mom would send me in to buy a “container of milk”, a loaf of rye bread and they would slice it for you and put it in the wax bag. Back then the Boston cream donuts were .10 cents then raised up to .25 cents. The highest I ever remember them being was $1 each many years later. My brother moved down the shore and we always had to bring him 1/2 a dozen because he loved them so much! They were 90% cream and 10% pastry. I knew in my heart of hearts after all these years once you haven’t had something, once you tasted it, you would just know and your heart would be happy and your brain would click and say “ahhh there it is, what I’ve been waiting for”. And then the day finally gets here after all the hype on Facebook that they were posting about and BAM! Nope. This is not the same. No way, no how!! They can say all they want it is the same bakers/recipes all they want. You know when they say the proof is in the pudding, the proof is in the Boston cream. I will give them this…the texture is pretty dang close, but not the same. The taste is way off and if it was truly a PPB Boston cream it would be filled up. This was about 30% as compared to years ago 90%. And the jelly donut was inedible. Dry and overcooked on the bottom. It is a shame. We used to get all my family birthday and occasion cakes here. We definitely not be returning to that. It was a custom. Yellow cake with strawberry and banana custard with whipped cream. After all the reviews of the cakes I read, we are not even going to bother. It made me so sad to be in there and look around and feel like all the nostalgia is gone. The white boxes and the spool of red and white string hanging from the ceiling. Everything in there is SO overpriced! $2.75 for a donut!!! That is insane. I knew the place had changed drastically when no one was in there and we got the first parking spot in front. Years ago we had to double park on the side street and pray we wouldn’t come out to a ticket!! It didn’t matter what time of day it was or what day of the week it was. And by 3pm there would be no pastries left! They had a ton leftover. That is because they are terrible. Sorry PPB. Yes…times have definitely changed. So incredibly sad.

I've been hesitant to stop by because of all the bad reviews. I decided to go see for myself and I'm glad I did. I wasn't let down and to my surprise, the donuts tasted exactly like they did, if not better, than they used to. Same loaded filling, same smell, but even fresher. Yes, prices have gone up. Donuts were $2.75 each. Linzer tart cookies were $3.50. We gotta roll with the times. Staff was super friendly and the self serve is nice, you can take your time and grab exactly what you want. I'll definitely be back to try more things out. So far so good. Don't let some of the negative reviews stop you from going to see for yourself what they have to offer.
