Palihouse Santa Barbara - Featured Reviews (190)
We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Palihouse in Santa Barbara. Chandra and the Team, including Sevy, Tommy and Summer were very friendly and helpful to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. We shared a room with two queen beds with our daughter. The room was very large and had a little patio, which was perfect for us. It was also right near the pool, which we enjoyed. The first day we had a great breakfast in the courtyard. The second day the cook had the day off, but nevertheless, there was a little breakfast buffet available with croissants and fresh fruit. We understand that it is difficult to find personnel (cooks) during this post Covid time. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would definitely stay at this little boutique hotel again. Thanks again to the entire Team for your hospitality!
I've stayed at this Palihouse MANY times and appreciate that the experience is both consistent and evolving with little touches. I've seen rooms have little furniture changes, the menu change, the fitness area get new weights; all of these little details add up. I've also been fortunate to see some familiar kind, helpful, cheerful, and accommodating team members during my visits. It means a lot to see employees stick around and it speaks volumes of the experience that extends to guests; many of my favorite places to stay have this in common. Chandra and Summer have been there for most of my stays and are always great at balancing being welcoming and helpful while also letting me have space. ||Also, the bar team is so great and helps the vibe. ||||As for the beds I always sleep so well and and super comfy. I've had a friend pass out there and asked to email about mattress and bedding. The team replied so quickly with those details to pass along. ||||This place doesn't have everything like a broader menu (especially more vegetarian options) or maybe better poolside service (this was my first time where I enjoyed the pool so it could have been a fluke) but the team always pulls it together to make this place one of my favorite cozy stays. ||||Huge thanks for making this a home-away-from-home for so many years!
Absolutely loved my stay at Palihouse! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm kiss of ambiance and a charming welcome. The customer service was top-notch, but I have to give a special shoutout to Sevi, the bartender….or should I say, host extraordinaire. Sevi doesn’t just craft drinks, he crafts experiences. They say home is where the heart is… my heart is at Palihouse thanks to Sevi helping me feel at home. His cocktails were worthy of the Olympic gold, and his recommendations were spot on!||The hotel itself is a gem. The pool area is a serene oasis, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I also loved the complimentary bikes, which made it easy to get around and enjoy the surrounding area. And the little touches, like the candies in the foyer, added an extra layer of delight to my stay.||Palihouse truly knows how to create a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back!
My husband and I recently had a wonderful weekend stay at Palihouse in Santa Barbara.||This boutique hotel offers an elegant vintage aesthetic, with great outdoor and indoor lounge space. Its convenient location allowed for easy access to downtown while also providing a peaceful retreat.||Would definitely recommend swinging by the bar for a cocktail from Vinny -- we loved the espresso martinis! ||If you're seeking a stylish and comfortable getaway in Santa Barbara, Palihouse is an excellent choice.
A slice of good. I’ve stayed before and had a great experience. Love the design ethic. Have even borrowed ideas for our home in LA. Today we stopped in for my husband’s birthday lunch and Mel made it so special. Lovely patio. Don’t miss the olive oil cake. Trust me!
Came here for my birthday weekend. It was great! ||The staff is super friendly. And the bartender, Sevy, made me a birthday cocktail. ||It was delicious and refreshing. ||Thank you, Pali house Santa Barbara! Also thank you for the card you left in my room ||Cheers 🥂 can’t wait to come back!
When our kitty, Baba, was given two to three months to live after being diagnosed with liver cancer, we were devastated. As we worked our way through the anticipatory grief, I realized that on the day that he finally left us, being in the empty house was going to be too much for our hearts to bear. So we planned to runaway immediately after he left us.||And so on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Baba went on his next adventure, and we sobbed our way to Santa Barbara.||We were greeted by the always smiling and cheerful, Chandra, at the front desk. She offered us a glass of sparkles while she checked us in, and then apologized profusely because our room wasn't ready (which was totally fine as it was barely 2pm and checkin is 3pm). She pointed us toward the afternoon candy and cookie offerings that lead to the (French-inspired?) bar where we ordered some cocktails while we waited for our room and planned our next move.||The downstairs space, both indoor and out, is very cozy and inviting. It has a very fancy, home-y appeal versus the sterile corporate vibe you can sometimes get at luxury hotels. Chandra, Summer, Mel (also a bartender?), Chevy (sp? the bartender), and Teddy (one of the other bartenders) as well as the rest of the support staff were all friendly and helpful.||The pool is very peaceful and you can find patches of shade or sun depending on your mood, and the water temperature is perfect.||I don't know how often the support staff maintain the pool area, but they were quietly working for a few hours every morning we were there. It wasn't off-putting, but something to keep in mind in case you want ultimate privacy by the pool first thing in the morning. That said, you could be sharing the space with other guests, as well, since the pool is for everyone. :-)||We used the free bikes a couple of times, as well as took advantage of the night time honor bar, (honorably, of course). Also enjoyed a few complimentary Happy Hour cocktails. We didn't eat at Palihouse or get room service, but the menu looked nice. And the hotel is conveniently located near to everything you could possibly need.||Our room was fantastic, and the bed was super comfy. Also had a big shower as well as tub if you want a soak.||The Palihouse helped us ease into our grief before fully having to immerse ourselves at home. And we've already discussed going back next year to celebrate our kitty's passing.||But whatever your reason might be to come to Santa Barbara, this is a great place to stay.
Beautiful place. Grounds are gorgeous and well kept. Exactly what it looked like online. |The staff was excellent. Really funny bartender, Sevy, made the trip. |Looking forward to the next time Im in Santa Barbara. Definitely will be coming back!
We loved our stay here! The manager/owner gave us great recommendations on hikes in the area! The location is perfect and walkable into town but quiet in the evenings. The room was perfect. We used their complementary bikes to ride to the butterfly b

Absolute perfection! Some of the best hospitality I have ever experienced. I forgot my hair brush and someone ran to the store and bought me a new one without me even asking. The staff went above and beyond in every way.

The best F45 I've been to. Class was packed with almost 50 members. All the coaches, specifically Coach Katrina, found time to motivate and challenge me through one of the best workouts I've had in months.
For me, my Bar Method classes are as important as taking my vitamins! I have been going regularly for nearly two years now and I feel so strong and healthy. The instructors go through a lot of training so you can count on having a good, challenging c
