Palace Cafe came highly recommended from a friend, but I personally will not rush to return for a meal. I loved watching their service and how the restaurant functioned, the staff did a fantastic job. We had the crab cheesecake, personally I liked the crab fingers on top more than the cheesecake itself. Our other appetizer was Shrimp Pan Roast it was pretty good, I liked the spice of it. Make sure and ask for french bread to soak up the sauce. My meal was the Shrimp Tchefuncte, I didn't love the rice. Also, they love mushrooms, I don't mind them but if you don't like them then be warned! Now comes the best part, the bananas foster was INCREDIBLE!
The best restaurant in the French Quarter. Excellent service and great food. Fish was unbelievable and the filet was grilled perfectly. You must order banana foster as it is prepared table side. It is AWESOME. We will make sure to go back again next time we are in New Orleans
The food is delicious! The Crab cheesecake is a must same with the gumbo Yaya!!!! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Nick, our waiter, provided some of the best service we've ever had. He did not rush us, was generous with his time, had great recommendations, and was just very friendly and kind. We really enjoyed our time and the food.
Best restaurant we visited in New Orleans. Service was great, food even better and jazz brunch gave a unique experience. I wish the other restaurants took some notes from here. We got wonderful French bread after seating my girlfriend couldn’t get enough of and count finish her meal. All in all highly recommended. The band even went to tables to play music for people.
This place came highly recommendwd by our concierge at the Ritz Carlton. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We ordered couple appetizers, entrees and dessert. We tried both the Gumbo YaYa and Turtle soup and crabmeat cheesecake and the mushroom crostini. I would recommend the crabmeat cheesecake!. However, the mushroom crostini fell short and served on cold hard baguette that was tough to chew. For entree, we tried the the Palace Filet, Fruits de Mer Pasta and the pepper duck. The filet was a bit tough and the duck is tender but too salty. The seafood pasta was ok, not hot just lukewarm and a little dry. Tried the White chocolate pudding, specifically asked our waitress if it was the soft kind and she said yes the softest. It was not , it is a firm type bread pudding which was not what we wanted. We also asked if it came with ice cream, and she said she could add a scoop and we agreed. She gave us a whole order and charged $7 for it. Overall, food was ok , service could be better. Atmosphere was good 👍 and convenient location.
Recently, I was in New Orleans for work and decided to try out a restaurant suggested by Lauren Daigle’s favorite restaurant guide on Apple Maps. It’s her hometown, so who better to trust for a restaurant recommendation? A colleague and I chose to explore Palace Café and oh, what a delightful experience it was! The Crab Cheesecake is a must-try—so delicious and full of flavor. Alec A, or Alvarez as he’s better known, was our helpful and friendly waiter. He suggested the shrimp dish, which was absolutely tasty! The menu, though small, offers a good mix, ensuring everyone finds something they love. For dessert, Alec recommended the chocolate mousse and my friend had the bread pudding. Both were just the right amount of sweet and so enjoyable. The portions? Perfectly sized! Here’s a tip: they’re only open on certain days. We were so glad to catch them on a Sunday evening—it’s a must-visit when you’re in town. In short, if you find yourself in New Orleans, make sure to stop by Palace Café for an amazing meal and friendly service. You won’t be disappointed!
They was out of the 3 items we went for (white chocolate bread pudding, bananas foster drink and fetta omelet) Fine Dining and we was in pajamas. Not sure how we was allowed on. Food was great.
The food was amazing! The seafood cheesecake was so good! It was a great experience! The crepes are also a huge hit! Overall yummy!
