Cool atmosphere and good food-but it was understaffed when we were there. The guy seemed pretty stressed and curt. The vibe of this place is really cool. It’s a fancier Irish pub which means that it’s clean and has smaller quantities of well made dishes. It’s in the Bellevue mall so it’s not super surprising. The boxty was good, but a perfect portion for 1 person. There isn’t nonalcoholic drinks aside from the classic coke/soft drinks. I was hoping there would be a more varied selection when you don’t want to drink. The prices are Seattle prices so I wasn’t suprised at the amount. But be aware you can easily spend $30+ for dinner per person
Happy hour shepherd's pie is a good name. It's decent but definitely made for a "happy hour" level of commitment instead of a solid day of shepherding. I expect a shepherd's pie to be meaty, rich and dense. Like taking a great stew and refining it down to its most pure essence... then covering it with potatoes. Yum. This pie was the lite beer version of that vision. The ground beef base was fine, but thin and lacking richness. The smart play that they made was matching the texture of the mashed potatoes to the beef. Which is to say light, you know, think fluffy sheep who like to nap. The good news is that it does work together. And if you are looking for shepherd's pie lite that doesn't leave you heavy, then this might work for you. For me I looking to match that beautiful mental image, and it just didn't match up.
This isn't one of those places I would come back to if in the area. The mushroom soup sounded amazing, but it was just water and oil with chunks of mushrooms. The Cesar salad was ok. Nothing really superb. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were as generic as it gets while the only positive thing was the vegetables. Those did have lots of flavor. The potatoes were too bland and the meatloaf had a gritty texture to it that didn't really sit right. Service was just as okay. She seemed super irritated that we all asked for separate checks. She also didn't bring refills on beverages at all. I can't recommend this place to anyone, even if it was convenient to the hotel.
The food was delicious! Tomatoe soup hit all the right spots. Our server was fantastic as well. We are going to have to come back and check out Trivia Night!
Update: I came back for a second round of the Halibut and Chips and the the result was the same perfection. The other update is that the fries were much better this time, fried enough to be crispy without being too oily. The col slaw per my wife who ate that side again was about the same. Overall, excellent service in a friendly environment, serving delicious food, beer, and whiskey. Below is my original review of this place and I'll add in the new picture of the meal for comparison. This place is a rare gem that is an absolute must go. I ordered the April special, Halibut Fish and Chip. It is by far the best I've ever had, the portion size was ample and the chef that prepared this cooked it with passion and finesse. To fries were lacking a bit but when dipped in a katchup and Guinness wing sauce combo... Amazing! I didn't get to try the col slaw due to my dairy restriction but my wife said she enjoyed it. To wrap the meal portion up, the Fish was perfection. The whiskey here was nothing short of delicious and balanced. The bartender working was incredibly knowledgeable and described things in just the right amount of detail. I'll absolutely come back again.
We stopped by here for a quick happy hour snack before making our way out to dinner. It has the Irish pub vibes with both indoor and covered outdoor seating. The service was pretty quick and efficient. We enjoyed the Irish Nachos and Fried mushrooms.
Casual friendly spirited bar with Irish food. Shepherd's pie with 2 pieces of thick but light bread & butter + a beer, really hit the spot.
First time here and we loved it! Great tasting food at reasonable prices! Entrees were generally $20 or less. Most desserts were $12. The food came out hot and fresh, and we loved the standard Irish fare menu. Hostess and waiter were both very friendly. The dessert menu enticed us to order dessert even though we rarely ever do, and it didn’t disappoint either.
