Pacific Motel - Motel in Gridley - 1308 CA-99, USA

We took a quick trip up that way and stayed here since the price was better than the other hotel in Gridley. The room is small but everything was comfortable. We didn't have any problems at all with management. We even were given plates and napkins after deciding on a 10pm trip to Round Table and we forgot to grab plates. Took me a minute to figure out the shower. One thing I liked was that the bar soap, being thinner, was so much better than the thick bars which always felt like such a waste to me.

My stay at this hotel was below average followed by unprofessionalism from management after. I arrived late as discussed where I was greeted by the hotel manager who is crass and rude. She is very abrasive and lacks any acceptable level of customer service. "Whatever" I thought to myself, I just need to sleep and get back to helping with the local disaster relief. The bed was surprisingly clean although the room itself was dingy and had hints of cigarette smoke scent for sure. I left early the next morning happy to be done with this place. Several days later I noticed the hold on my credit card for my deposit was no longer a hold but had actually processed. I called asking why the hold wasn't removed. She said it was processed and then they refunded it. Ok... That's not what you said you were going to do but ok whatever. Several days later the transaction finally refunded but was missing about $15. I called asking why my deposit wasn't totally refunded and she said I left stained towels behind.... Are you kidding me? First of all, No, I did not stain your towels. I'm an exemplary hotel guest and I'm extremely clean. Second of all, even if you towels were slightly dirty, which they weren't, you're going to charge me for you having to wash your towels? Ludicrous! For a Motel that doesn't even have working locks or functioning TVs, to complain about a guest leaving a dirty towel behind is absolutely insane. The manager is extremely rude and lacks any customer service skills which is why I had to resort to more challenging methods of receiving my full deposit refund which I now have received. I recommend going to literally any other hotel or just driving to Chico instead of staying here. You'll regret an experience at this Motel.

I was pleasantly surprised! My husband found this motel on the fly and I'm glad he did. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean and more than what I was expecting. This is a old style motel where the 2 queens were in seperate rooms and it had a private kitchen in the room too. The best part was the reasonable cost. Other places wanted more than double what I paid for.

Just no. My room had no dead bolt and when you pulled on the door handle, it opened up easily. I had to rip off some of the weather stripping so it would close properly. Calling the front desk or knocking on their door does no good, employees are long gone. Left a message, never heard back. Really felt unsafe, got out of there as soon as possible. Yeah, got to pay $100 for that experience. Never again.

Stopped here on our way back from Wasteland Weekend - so wonderful to have a clean bed and a hot shower after a week in the desert. Simple presentation with friendly, straight-forward staff and clean, air-conditioned rooms. Prices were a little higher than advertised online, but still reasonable. Great for travelers looking for a comfortable, tidy place to crash for the night.

"Can you recommend a Mexican restaurant?"||"No. I don't like Mexican food."||||"There's no shampoo in the room. Can I buy some?"||"No. We don't have any."||||"Where is the ice machine?"||"There's a store down the street where you can buy some."||||"What's Oroville like? Should we visit there?"||"I don't know. Never been there."||(Oroville is about a half hour away.)||||If we paid $50 a night I might not complain but this was a pretty shabby room and we paid $80/night. There was a lot of road noise and the a/c was noisy. Also, there was no coffee service in the room but there was in the lobby and she asked me what time I'd be over for coffee. I showed up the next morning at the agreed upon time of 7am and there was no coffee. ||||I don't expect miracles but sometimes the smaller independent motels do provide a better attitude and better service. Not here.

Guess you can get away with being disgusting when you’re one of the only options of places to stay. You’re better off pitching a tent anywhere else in town. Full of all sorts of creepy crawling bugs and biting bed bugs. How this place hasn’t been shut down is beyond me.

The difference in management is simply amazing! Previous manager seemed to HATE the motel and THE GUESTS! New management treats you as you treat them! I prefer mutually respectful interaction! With the NEW MANAGEMENT, I get what I give!
