OYO Hotel Calhoun, GA I-75 - Hotel in Calhoun - 689 Chatsworth Rd NE, USA

First off, great staff. That earned them a star. They did what they could to help my husband and I during our 2 night stay and were very friendly. But good customer service does not excuse maintenance of the rooms themselves. My Husband and I stayed for 2 nights because we had no where else to go. While we were there, there were several inconveniences I'm going to list. 1. We originally had called them to make a booking and the guy we spoke to over the phone told us we needed to pay online. So we went to Walgreens to load our card with the cash we had been given to stay at the motel, and followed the link. When we got there to check in, we were informed that they don't take online payments and we'd have to get a refund which by the way we're still waiting for. We were lucky to have another $54 on hand to pay for the night, but they need to stop telling people to pay online when it's not accepted by the motel. That and take their motel off of 3rd party apps where there's that option. 2. When we got into the room, it was mostly clean besides the bugs and a dead rat in the bathroom. Before opening these rooms up to customers after a stay or when you know someone is coming and going to be staying a night or 2, I'd suggest doing a routine check of all open rooms to look for bugs and rats. This is the kind of thing we expected from a cheap motel, but it still bothered us. 3. When we got into our room, there was originally no pillows on our bed. We had called customer service and they got that settled, but again they should make sure everything is in order and ready for us before we are given the key. A new set of pillows should have been put on the bed after the previous person had left. Once they were notified about the issue, however, they did make it right and bring up our pillows. Thankful to them for that. 4. The TV remote didn't work. We had to manually turn it on and off if we wanted to watch something and there was only 2 channels that were playing anything. Also not a complaint just a side thought- why is the power button not with the others on the side but under it instead? I've never seen that and it's weird in a way- Other than that, our stay was an average motel stay, and what you'd expect out of some place like this. Grateful to the staff for their help, but they need better janitorial services. As for the stay being worth the money? I'd say it would have been if it was just $10 less per night. I'd suggest finding somewhere else.

It’s nothing but mice and roach infested rooms with black mold growing in the bathroom. Stayed there for 5 months and they never wanted to do anything. They just said they telling us what we want to hear and the owner won’t take any action either. We had to keep our food and clothes in totes cause the mice would make nest out of it in my baby boys dresser. Absolutely disgusting not suitable for human living

Stay away……..you were warned. This place does not accept online bookings unless you booked with the OYO app. If you book with any of the 3rd party apps that are shown here - you will have to pay the hotel for whatever the (non OYO) 3rd party app has charged you (for which, you are on your own for getting a refund from that third party booking app). The wifi in the lobby did not work so I could not even show the clerk what I had already paid expedia. If you cannot show them what you paid (the 3rd party app), they charge a flat rate of $87.00. Do yourself a favor, there are 5 or 6 other hotels in the area that do not cost more than another $10-15 than the discounted rate for this hotel (using the OYO App they quote $40 a night for a single)- stay at one of those instead……..p.s. If you do call the OYO customer service dept (based somewhere in India) be prepared to be treated rudely by over worked customer service reps (a lot of yelling in the background tipped me to what I felt was a high stress situation for those reps).

I stopped by here on my way to Chattanooga and they told me it was $72.50 a night for just myself so the prices on here are wrong! Needless to say, I didn't stay.... I can only imagine what they charge for a couple or weekly after $72.50 a night for just myself! Not worth it, it's not the holiday inn

Everyone we interacted with was great. They all made us feel at home. Only downside was that there's nothing but the interstate close, which isn't their fault. Although because of that they offer A LOT of quick/snack foods at the office (to purchase).

I chose this place for its location, however no rooms were available. The booking was made online, and the payment was made online. However, a payment is NOT supposed to be taken online at all so a refund was issued to me. I did have help to get a room thanks to the front desk attendant Samantha who was an absolute Rockstar and sweetheart in helping me find a place to sleep after traveling so long. She was exactly the type of hospitality and people of Georgia I was hoping to come across while on vacation, so thank you. And to the owner, I hope you get the kinks worked out man, I know it isn't your fault! So my rating is a solid 2 star, since I didn't stay, I can't rate rooms and such, as for front desk service, definitely a 5 star Rockstar! And of course the location is what I was lookin for.

Want to start off by saying that the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Apparently this hotel does not accept online payments so when we booked through another site, we ended up having to pay for a room and fight to get our money back from the booking site. This is in all reality the definition of a cheap motel. The pictures on Google are NOTHING like what the rooms are actually like. The rooms are in various states of disrepair. They have some construction going on attempting to remodel but it has a LONG way to go. Again on a positive note the staff was very accommodating and helpful so I have nothing bad to say about the ladies up there. Still waiting on refund from booking site btw...

This place is horrible. Where to start? I rented for two nights. First room was next to the office. No remote for the TV and could hear every sound made from the office. Asked to switch rooms because unable to sleep with all the laughing and talking from the office. Put in a room that had a huge open space under the door. It's the end of November, so cold air is blowing in the room. As I am bringing my things in the room I see the maintenance guy sitting on the toilet going #2. The water would not drain in the sink or bathtub. The bedspread had a bad smell. The one towel I was given was stained and had a smell. There was sticky stuff all over the walls and floor. I spent at least two hours trying to clean just enough to stay till I could leave there. The TV was nice and the water stayed hot. That was the only two things decent about this place. Also, I'm not one to judge people, we all have issues, but the ones that work there definitely do not need jobs dealing with customers. The way they dress and carry themselves will tell you that from the start. These rooms and everything about this motel is not worth what I paid, which was close to $60 a night. Cut that price in half...maybe. I say for the price they charge, go up the road and pay a little more. You will be glad you did. Stay away from this place. I took pictures and if I can see how to post them, I will, but again I say, this place is not worth the time or money. Horrible, Nasty, and Needs Improvement In Everything!
