As a wedding professional and working in this industry now for about 8+ years I can tell you that we have worked with many venues across Connecticut and done hundreds of weddings all over the place. Owenego is one of our favorite venues to work with because the entire staff is super friendly and welcoming ( even to the vendors who are working the event, this is not the case with some of the other venues we have worked with unfortunately ), The grounds are so well cared for and maintained and the venue itself is beyond beautiful and sunsets are amazing!! If you're a couple who is considering getting married here I will tell you that you won't be disappointed!
My husband and I got married at the Owenego in May and it was a dream come true. Pat, John, Meg and their entire team were the most incredible venue hosts, and kept the day running so smoothly (even when things with outside vendors went sideways - they were there to save the day). The Owenego is an incredibly special place and was exactly what we wanted for a classic but laid back wedding on the shoreline. The gardens, the charm, and the stunning views made for the most spectacular day - it rained and it was still as gorgeous as I could have ever hoped for. The planning process is also a delight, as the team was always happy to hop on the phone to talk through a question or a nuance, unbelievably patient, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about making it a special day for us and our guests. Our vendors were always delighted when they heard we were getting married at the O, which was a sign that we were in great hands!
We had our wedding at the Owenego in June and we couldn’t have dreamed for a more beautiful day. John and his team were incredible. They made us feel at home the minute we toured the venue. It was a no brainer to have our wedding at the Owenego. We must have received a comment on the venues beauty from every guest!!
Just had my wedding here and it was the most spectacular venue I could have ever imagined. Getting married on the lawn over looking the water was like a dream. John, Pat, Jane, And the whole crew came together to make sure every detail was planned and launched to perfection!! My guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing of a location it was and how fantastic the food was! Truly a hidden gem!
I was invited to a wedding that took place on the lawn, with a stunning backdrop of the Long Island Sound. |The Inn is a charming wooden structure, typical of New England. The dining room faces the water, and as the sun set, the bride & groom were being photographed against a pink glow over the water.|The staff is very efficient. The open bar had 2 bartenders. There was a large glass container of water with lemons for self serve, a nice touch. The food, from the copius little bites to dessert, was above average. The dinner was buffet style. There was a large salad as well as an assortment of roasted vegetables, a carving station, very good chicken with artichoke on spinich, Chilean sea bass, and many more dishes to choose from. |There is an elevated deck off the dining room where guests can go to admire the view and sit at tables. |I can imagine coming here for a nice dinner on a hot summer night and walking on the seawall below before staying for a night.
Great food ambiance. One of a kind establishment
My husband and I had our wedding at the Owenego a few weeks ago, and couldn't have been happier with that decision. The term "hidden gem" doesn't even do it justice, slice of heaven is more appropriate! John and Pat were a blessing as we tried to figure out what to do when COVID hit. They were perfectly flexible and gracefully guided us through the decision-making process. They took every measure possible to ensure that we could have a safe event. Every detail of the actual event was superb - the food was outstanding (one guest said best filet he'd ever had), the setting was ideal (despite a tropical storm a few days before), and the staff was so delightful (Pat was angel helping everything run smoothly and taking attentive care of the groom and me). After the reception, we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave, and stayed for drinks on the deck - again FABULOUS service. I can't wait to visit again!
This is an awesome New England style shoreline venue. We were married here in the gazebo overlooking the Thimble Islands. We went with round tables white table cloths white China which the venue supplied. We opted for a buffet which offered a chicken dish, fish dish and beef dish, an array of vegetables. The staff Buffet Presentation was amazing and very classy. Some of the dishes were presented in boat shaped dishes and they had gorgeous flowers strategically placed flowers. The food was excellent. They announced one table at a time to go up to the buffet so it was not like a huge line waiting for their food. I was able to have the chairs covered in a white material with gorgeous bows on the back of them. Each table had a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine on the tables and we had open bar. The staff was kind fun and so considerate to our needs.
Love the high intensity workouts that F45 offers. The short bursts of activity with recovery time help push you to maximize your full body workout that challenges both cardio and muscle endurance.
John was (and is) AMAZING! He is everything in the world of entertainment, professional, kind, fun and great with a mic! He listened to what type of music we liked and any requests we had he made sure it was done. He also was great at getting the gue
