This place is amazing. They have great pizza and beers, and the breakfast is great too. It is really affordable to eat here and the people are very friendly. We had some good talks here. A great place in John Day!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Outpost, and let me tell you, it was an extraordinary experience! Our server, Heidi was our server and she was excellent. To start off my culinary expedition, I opted for the Diablo burger, a veritable masterpiece infused with jalapeno and topped with the delightful and scrumptious pepper jack cheese. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me in awe of the culinary wizardry at play. Now, my dear daughter and fellow gastronome, she embarked on her own delightful adventure with the strawberry mountain pancakes. These delectable treats were met with nothing short of adoration from her discerning taste buds. The fluffy pancakes were adorned with a generous serving of succulent strawberries, offering a burst of sweet tanginess that she couldn't resist. One cannot overlook the reasonable prices that grace the menu at The Outpost. Among its many virtues, this establishment delivers exceptional value that is sure to please even the most meticulous of budget-conscious diners. And let us not forget the legendary fries that accompanied our main courses. I had one dinner (a pizza) and two different breakfasts at the Outpost. Each was excellently prepared and quite fulfilling. Watching as other customers received their meals (lots and lots of locals, always a good sign) the presentation was as high a quality as the taste. High standards here! These were my first visits, but special trips to John Day are called for.

It was great to be able to walk from our hotel to The Outpost for dinner. The service was fast and friendly. The menu has a great variety of choices. I had one of their specialties, Alice Chicken, which was unique and very good. They have homemade ice cream and a whole variety of good deserts. Definitely a find.

Great food and even better staff! Stopped through on a road trip and sat at the bar. The bartender was nicer than most, the beer was cold, and the food was great. Highly recommend! Don’t forget to tip your servers well!

Travel for work. Food has been spot on every night, enough so to make frequent visits. Have yet to get anything that wasn't tasty, fresh, or hot. My only wish is a checkback from server about drink refills. Other than that, amazing establishment.

Repas bon, décoration sympathique. Une boutique de vêtements est associée. Dommage qu'il y ait eu mésentente entre la cuiset ke service ; second plat avec trop d'attente et plus très chaud... A réessayer ?

Food was very well prepared. Steak was as ordered. Side veggies were just barely carmelized and still had a crunch. Too full for dessert, Waitress and cashier were attentive and very pleasant. Would highly recommend.
