Absolutely loved our visit to the Observatory last Thursday. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the little tutorials at each telescope. Alex did a fantastic job with the constellation guided tour. He was funny and engaging, and I learned a lot! The whole visit far exceeded any expectations that I had had. Thank you to everyone who maintains the buildings, equipment and the experience as a whole. Hands down my favorite part of our trip to Sunriver!
Great experience. Approximately 10 telescopes set up and trained on various celestial objects. 10 or 11 qualified staff (presumably volunteer?) keeping the scopes trained on and offering explanations for an assortment of celestial bodies and points of interest including the moon, Saturn, the Andromeda galaxy and some others. The stars are bright out in rural Oregon, team! You need a reservation, they are only open on certain nights, so check the schedule, and tix are $35 each. Definitely would do again if I'm ever in the area again.
The night time show and telescope viewing is really cool, totally worth the money and time. The presentation upfront is fun and got to see a ton of cool stars and planets. The staff is really informative and know their stuff. They sold out but place didn’t feel busy, the right balance of people and space. It is worth raising the price to keep this balance. I would give more than five stars if possible.
Very cool place that was worth the trip. Expert help answered questions and gave great kid friendly demos of telescopes. Lots of stuff to learn and a great facility for the hands on experience. Full family fun for kids of any age. Dress warm and expect to stay up late.
Lots of volunteers helping out people. Got to see star clusters and Jupiter and the moon and the Andromeda galaxy. Dark, so lots of stars visible. Pricey tickets.
The stars were amazing! Having so many telescopes set up at once made for a great experience. The the staff was extremely knowledgeable. A life changing experience for me!
We had a great time! Nice it’s outside, Covid friendly. All the staff were nice and very informative! Would go again! Bring coat and hats it’s cold at night.

We, being my wife and I, decided to go here for their happy hour (from 3pm to 6pm daily) after a few hours of shopping in Sunriver. It was a few ticks past 5pm when we arrived, and the separate bar was already half full, but the tastefully dimly lit
