The BEST rental experience ever. Jim and Betsy are amazing and provide excellent service and a beautiful place to stay. We rented through them to provide housing for our crew while completing a project on Orcas Island for 6+ months. We stayed in just about every place they offered at Bayside as well as their properties in East Sound. Their communication was always timely and they were very accommodating and flexible with our last minute requests. Rita and the rest of the cleaning team always did an outstanding job even when we provided little notice. Every cottage/ home was very well equipped and maintained, not to mention very comfortable. I cannot say enough good things about them and hope to be able to stay there again in the future!

My family and I stayed in the Beach House at Bayside Cottages for 1 week in July 2021. This place is amazing. All of the positives outweighed the few negative things. The views are amazing. You can see the water from many of the windows on the backside of the house and hear the waves at night crashing into the rocks on the private beach right below the house. The house has two dinner tables. We always ate at the one in the sunroom to enjoy the view of the water. We cooked grilled Salmon on the outdoor grill twice. The Grill was a perfect addition that we didn’t realize the property had. The kitchen has all the necessary cooking utensils and pans that we needed. We didn’t bring any hair soap or body wash as we thought it would be provided, but was not. Not a big deal as we were able to pick some up at the super market in East Sound. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs. One has two queen beds in it and the other has a king bed. The bedding was nice and comfortable. The pillows were flat and not very nice. Could use an upgrade here or Bring your own. Every Morning we would wake up to deer on the property. We enjoyed watching them and also watched a sea otter out in the water often. My kids loved walking the beach in the low tide looking at the different sea life that is visible with a low tide. We would definitely recommend the beach house. It’s in an amazing area. It’s 10 minute drive back to Moran State Park and 16 minute drive to East Sound. Jim was great to work with during our stay and made took care of everything we needed during our stay. Can’t wait to come back again.

We stayed at Bayside and really enjoyed it. We stayed in "The Beach House" and it was large and nicely decorated full of everything you may need. This house has a very large master bedroom and large second bedroom with two beds. Each room looks very nice and was quite comfortable. The downstairs was large with various rooms. The deck off the front of the house is perfect to watch wildlife. The back of the house which is on the waterside has a small deck. Still the backyard on the water side has a picnic table and several chairs to enjoy meals and cocktails. The view of Mount Baker is very nice. The owners of the cottages were very nice and hospitable, checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed.||The best part of staying at the Beach House was the wonderful amount of wildlife we saw from the windows, the front porch and just being outside. Lots of deer and other animals. The beachfront is a short walk away and down some steps. My kids enjoyed playing there and looking at the many sea anemones along the rocks. I really wish we could have stayed longer. Just lots of fun.

We enjoyed a lovely short stay here at the beginning of December 2017. Jim & Betsy could not have been more helpful. Wonderful room with fantastic views over to the mainland. We had a horse ride on the day we checked out and were offered the room for a little longer to come back and shower and freshen up before we headed back to the ferry. This is a beautiful property. Well kept. and a lovely place to stay. I'm sure we will be back to come and see the Whales in the future. Thank you.

I stayed in Cypress cabin for a week. The location, near beautiful Obstruction Pass park, is nice, though somewhat isolated, which matters when you arrive tired and realize you have to backtrack 45 minutes to buy coffee or tea because none is provided and the listing didn't say which kind of coffee to get [percolator]. It's the cooler side of the island, and it gets even less sun because of all of the trees. Views through the trees to the Salish Sea and Mt. Baker are gorgeous. ||But:||--there is only a light duvet on the bed. The first night I froze; second night I pretended I was camping and wore all of my clothes to bed; third night I broke down and bought a blanket, which I belatedly realized the owner had recommended on the listing. (Who brings a blanket on a plane to a cabin?)||--there is no curtain over the large sliding glass doors, which directly face the bed. It felt exposed and uncomfortable, but buying my own curtains seemed absurd.||--there is no coffee, tea, sugar, salt, shampoo, conditioner, etc, though there was dishwashing detergent, a sponge, a wrapped bar of soap, and the towels were thick and new.||--the owners, whom I think live in the big house on the property, never said hello, via email or in person, to me, except when I showed up early and was asked "Can I help you?" in the tone that means "What are you doing here and get off the property."||--guests are asked to leave a tip for the housekeeper. There was no housekeeping the week I was there, although a nice woman was finishing cleaning the cabin when I arrived. Guest are instructed how to take out their trash, strip linens upon departure, etc.||--the dirt road to the property has deep gouges, so every time I drove in and out I worried that my little rental would bottom out. It didn't, but the road is hazardous.||--for an isolated place, it's surprising not that quiet. I was awakened most mornings by a chain saw nearby, and planes fly overhead often. (Not the property's fault, but be advised.)||It's a pretty location but too cold, un-cozy, and unfriendly for me, and I'm the quiet type.

We recently stayed in the Lummi Cottage, a cozy little nest overlooking the Sound. The cottage is well-appointed, with a comfortable bed in a beautiful little nook. It was cold and rainy (of course!), so we took advantage of the wood stove, which came with an ample supply of firewood. There are two routes to the beach--a steep trail just below the cottage, or an access road next to the compound. I walked down the access road late at night and sat on a log for an hour in the dark, watching, listening, breathing. Completely private and serene. Ahhh! Highly recommended.

We stayed 9 days in the Cypress Cottage, tucked away on Buck Bay. Its a sweet little place for 2 adults, we spent a lot of time on the covered porch gazing out on the water and mountains. This was a lovely place to rest and relax, which was what we wanted. Its far enough away from Eastsound to be very quiet, but close enough to enjoy the town amenities. Close to Moran State Park for hiking or walking in the woods. Hospitable but not intrusive hosts. We would definitely return!

2nd stay in the Barn Loft. It's the perfect size for our small family. The kids love sleeping on the daybed in the living room. The location is lovely with a large field in between the barn and the main house. The barn loft is rustic and could use some updates to the wifi and some of the pots/pans but you're on an island so it's a good excuse to go off the grid. The bedroom is comfortable.

My partner and I had a lovely time in the Doe Re Mi cabin at Doe Bay resort in the last week of January. The cabin was cozy and had a gorgeous view of the water. The soaking tubs were divine and restorative. The open mic at the cafe was full of songs
