If you can overcome the parking pressure, Opo is a precious place to camp and be productive. The plants looked so real I thought they were fake! Service is top notch, and the products are quality. What a gem of a cafe!
This is still a relatively new coffeeshop, but I believe it’s a best in class establishment in the metro Atlanta area after my visit.
As always, I judge a coffeeshop on their Cortado and this place delivered! Great taste and flavor!
The vibe inside is super chill and the employees are friendly.
I live in north Georgia, but every time I’m down in Decatur I will be visiting!
I'm a huge fan of opo coffee! The attention to detail in the space is super appealing. It feels like a really great place to hang with a group, or get some work done. There's plenty of space.
Parking can be a bit challenging, but it's not too difficult to find street parking.
I tried their pour over and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was really well done! They clearly pay close attention to how excellent the coffee comes out. The pour over was floral, light, and not too acidic.
All in all a great spot :)
Decatur's local coffee shop with a colorful, geometric design and spacious loft ceilings.
Things you should know:
I. PARKING
Limited. There's about 4-5 spaces on the direct left of the building. The street in front (E Howard Ave) has 2 hour, parallel street parking. If there's nothing available there, then the very END of Barry St, closest to E Howard Ave may have some parallel spots; however, make sure you're not parked in front of someone's home ~ you will get towed (hence why I said the end of Barry St. Not the middle. Not the side near Commerce Dr.)
II. SERVICE
Timely. They do provide latte art here.
III. QUALITY
The Americanos are delicious ~ dense and acidic ~ not watered down.
IV. CAPACITY
Ngl, the coffee shop is packed on weekends around noon but tapers off as the evening approaches. We were lucky and still able to find a seat.
This has quickly become a favorite coffee spot for my wife and I. We’ll drive 30 minutes just to hang out here for an afternoon, and love that they stay open later than a lot of other coffee places.
Great vibe inside (although often crowded), and awesome patio out back. It’s a great place to meet a friend or colleague, and the coffee and tea are *chef’s kiss*.
My one complaint is that their food options are really limited, and they don’t allow outside food or drink. I understand why, but it would be great if they worked something out with Kelly’s Market next door to provide sandwiches or something similar. If you’re not feeling hungry, though, this is a top tier coffee shop for hanging out or getting some work done.
Opo is a must-visit new local coffee shop in Decatur, GA. They roasts their own coffee resulting in unbeatable freshness and flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, filled with loves of plants and open space. Their baristas are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Overall, I would highly recommend Opo to anyone looking for an exceptional coffee experience. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just someone who appreciates a good cup of joe, you won't be disappointed.
Parking is a little tricky, you can park on the side, road nearby, and quickly walk over.
Opo Coffee is a gem and a fun place to go in the Old Depot District of Decatur. The large windows give the coffee shop a light and airy atmosphere. The coffee itself is PHENOMENAL, not a lot of pastries selection at the time I visited this place. There is seating inside facing the roasting area, outside in the store front and on the outdoor patio.
This is such an awesome location for great coffee, hot chocolate, cookies, and to just chill! It’s my go to coffee destination whenever I get the opportunity! Also, you can see coffee being ground, and sign up for classes, if you want to learn more about the coffee industry! The people are exceptionally friendly, and the coffee is the best I’ve ever had! (Hint: buy some fresh coffee, and take it with you!)
Great coffee shop! Itâs very cozy inside and thereâs a lot of seating inside. They have local art for sale inside as well! The coffee comes out quick and itâs really good. Parking is a bit limited but thereâs lots around the area. I would def
