ONTECH SMART SERVICES - Contractor in Totowa - 45 A Commerce Way, USA

Ontech smart services lacks the skills to provide the services. They are the opposite of smart. I recently ordered a diagnostic service for a ring device that was already in the house that i just moved into. Before booking the service, i spoke to one of their agents and explained my issue that i was not able to get in touch with the previous owners to setup the ring device in my phone. They suggested me to book a diagnostic service with their technician who will be able to help me setup the device with my account. The on-tech technician came and said there is nothing he can do to fix the issue if I can’t get in touch with the previous owner and then just left. When i called ring customer support they said that the technician should have contacted them to resolve the issue and I ended up solving the issue myself with the help of ring customer support. Not only on-tech smart services did not provide the service that i paid for, their agents gave me false information and they denied to refund my money. On-tech smart services is a scam and their technicians lack the basic skills.

We recently used OnTech to help us select outdoor cameras. We indicated we wanted to be able to hardwire them, a service the consultant let us know that OnTech does not do but we could engage an electrician to do. The electrician came yesterday and indicated the cameras that the consultant recommended and sold us can’t be hardwired. On a call to try to exchange what we purchased for a hardwired version, the customer service tech at OnTech just indicated that you don’t sell the version of any of the products (Nest, Ring) that can be hardwired. As soon as we mentioned to the consultant that they did not sell the hardwire versions, he should have let us know we would have to go elsewhere to purchase the products we wanted. The reason we used OnTech was to take the guesswork and research off our plate and get to the right solution from the beginning by using an “expert”. I can not believe the dishonesty of the consultant and the lack of customer service by the company to immediately correct the situation. I called yesterday and was told leadership would connect with me in four days. It was $1000 in equipment. I am shocked and dismayed.

This company deserves zero stars. Worst customer service ever. They came to look at my thermostat and took apart my HVAC and failed to put it back together. Panels were not attached correctly and screws were laying everywhere. Contacted them and they are impossible to deal with. Had to pay someone else to put it back together.

It has been a fantastic experience using OnTech to install my televisions, doorbell, and cameras. Technicians were friendly and professional. They respected my home and gave great knowledgeable advice. The installations were easy and service was fast. Setting appointments and ordering services are so easy to do online. OnTech made everything stress free!!!

Do yourself a favor and avoid working with this company. I feel scammed!!! The technical salesperson misled us in the purchase of internet extenders (2 Google Nest) that were supposed to enhance signal quality and be compatible with Ring cameras. We experienced camera issues, and when we contacted Ring, they informed us that such extenders weren't compatible. OnTech, when contacted, claimed they couldn't help, despite the technician insisting on the Nest purchase. No solutions were provided, and we lost money and time. This company only brought discomfort to my family. I don't recommend working with them.

I purchased Several cameras, routers, doorbell from them years ago and the system always goes out, never connected to the internet, and they refuse to come back and look at it. YOURE better off buying them at Best Buy and hiring their team to set it up

They installed 2 nest power connect for me, one for the basement and one for the first floor. The one for the basement was not working. I called to send a tech to see what is wrong. They sent unprofessional tech who disconnected all wires and reconnected them again in improperly. As a result, I found the whole heating system is not working in the three zones. I called a professional HVAC tech same day. He diagnosed the system and told me that OnTech technician has caused a damage to Aquastat relay and it need to be replaced. This cost me $800 for the part and the labor. I called OnTech customer service and told them what happened and filed a complaint. They said that they will reach out to me next day. It has been two weeks and they never called.

I would characterize my experience with Ontech as outright fraud. I explained thoroughly what my thermostat wiring set up was to the tech on the phone and was assured that it was very common and the tech that would come out for the site visit had seen this scenario before and there would be no issues in fixing an ongoing issue with one of our Nest Thermostats. They happily took my money in advance but the tech was in our home roughly 45 seconds when he let me know that had he known what our setup was, he would have let me know that this isn't something they could rectify. His advice was to actually get a different thermostat, which I was blown away by. DO NOT consider working with this company. They lie in order to steal your money, no different than a common thief.
