O'Neil House Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (178)
Absolutely loved staying here! This house is beautiful and Gayle is a sweetheart. Got to chat with her during my stay and learn all about the place. I highly recommend if you're in the Akron area to give this place a shot, you won't regret it.
This is the most amazing B&B we have ever stayed at. Our suite was great. The bathroom with the green glass walls was over the top. The owner was as sweet and welcoming as could be. This is truly a B&B that I will remember for a long time. It is definitely a one-of-a- kind experience.
We just left the BnB and are still chatting about our wonderful time and Gayle's hospitality. Our room was quaint and charming. She took the time to give us the history of the home and we could've talked to her for hours! Kindness and warmth radiate from her the moment you walk in. She served us a delicious wholesome breakfast, and we didn't want to leave! Our only regret is that we didn't book more nights. Thanks, Gayle!
The O’Neil House belongs to the innkeeper, Gayle, and her sweet black cat, Annabelle. But Gayle makes you feel as if it is your house. You are free to wander the rooms and grounds, to read in the salon or sit on a garden bench and watch the birds fly by. (During my visit last week, I had the good fortune of meeting the mother mallard who raises her ducklings in Gayle’s pond season after season.)
The guest rooms are just as charming as its grand entrance. I’ve stayed in the family sweet twice — three beds for just me! — but I absolutely love it.
There’s so much to explore in a single space: books, trinkets, maps, tiny closets and drawers. (And a WC!) The windows, wood, tile and fixtures are all old (no repros here) but function like new. Fresh towels, toiletries, bathrobes, blankets — it’s all there ready for guests.
Nothing beats Gayle’s cooking: homemade with love; not too heavy but filling. (Her coffee and cranberry lime juice are delicious.). Gayle’s stories, including the one about her home, are wonderful.
Staying at the O’Neil House makes me feel like a child again — like I’ve stumbled into a wardrobe and found Narnia. I will continue to go back again and again.
Lovely old home. The host was sweet and welcoming. It is a beautiful old home with classic tudor features. It would be a lovely location for an intimate wedding reception. The breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect for dinner downtown.
This is a truly unique, beautiful place to stay. Gail is the long-time owner/proprietor and she takes great care of the house and her guests. The grounds are well maintained and the neighborhood offers great walking.
This was the nicest house I've ever, or will probably ever, sleep in. The owner, Gayle, gave us a tour of the house and treated us to one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. She was such a friendly host and made sure that we felt welcomed and comfortable. I can't recommend a place any higher than this one. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!
Stunning on the outside. The inside could use some work. Friendly service. Breakfast was not great. Overall, this place has a lot of potential but it’s just a little cluttered and underwhelming.
Louie, our host, is very friendly and helpful both with questions before and after arrival. He has put much time and thought into making his guest rooms very comfortable, and providing essential items for a wide variety of travelers. His recommendati
