On The Half Shell - Oyster bar restaurant in Prairieville - 37390 Perkins Rd, USA

I LOVED the spinach dip! The pita chips took it to another level! I really enjoyed the oysters and being able to try all the different options chargrilled that they offer!! All of them were good! I didn't get Bienville because I already had spinach dip but I would imagine they are just as good. There was live music in the back and the front part of the restaurant was still quiet enough enjoy a nice meal. The service was good and the prices were as you'd expect. Nothing crazy. My husband enjoyed the catfish and shrimp as well as the sweet potato fries. Good for a nice dinner. Portion sizes were adequate. We finished all our food but we were definitely full because of the spinach dip!

We had the best lunch ever! To start off, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip with fresh warm pita chips. It was so delicious! Side salads were cold and fresh! Ordered the New Orleans style BBQ shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes, Fried half shell seafood platter with seafood gumbo, coleslaw, and fries, Asiago Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled veggies, and a Kids Grilled cheese with fries. All these plates were a 10/10. Very delicious and tasty. All made from scratch. Then for dessert we didn't what to choose from and ordered the pecan bread pudding with lots of praline sauce that had just come out of the oven freshly made, a raspberry cheesecake, and a lava cake with lots of whipped cream. All the food was great. You can really taste the freshness in each bite. Even their sweet tea with fresh lemon was awesome. We had the best waitress ever, Mindy. She gave us the best 100% service ever. Highly recommend the Half Shell. Make sure to stop by and say to Mindy the Gonzalez family from South Texas sent you all.

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. The live band sounded great! Our server was very sweet and attentive. If I am ever in this area again, I will be stopping by for another dish on the menu!

Louisiana is known throughout the Country for it's food and On The Half Shell has got to be one of it's stars. We came in and explained to our server Mikey that we were Northerners who didn't know how to eat "Louisiana". What an amazing meal!!!! We each had 3 different types of oyster, each better than the one before it. The Gumbo was amazing and the Catfish Victoria (I had blackened and my wife had broiled) was the best fish we've ever had. Do yourself a favor and try On The Half Shell. Definitely the best seafood we've ever had and possibly the best restaurant meal we've ever experienced!

Best place! Sooo, I have so much to say about this place. But I'll just keep it simple. If you want to listen to some music, check this place out. If you want some amazing oysters that look beautiful, check this place out. If you want a nice cocktail, check this place out and If you would like to have amazing service, definitely check this place out!! So far, everything I've had on the menu is beyond delicious. I highly recommend the shrimp and crawfish dip. The oysters as I said are beautiful and they taste amazing. The gumbo is on point. Can't go wrong with the wine... As I said, I can continue!!

Our waitress, Christina, was wonderful! Appetizer’s we ordered the Boudin balls and the Chargrilled oysters, they both were very very good. Entrée was the Crawfish on the Bluff, very delicious. Everyone was very friendly and great atmosphere for lunch or dinner.

Great environment and good people. Live music is upbeat and fun. On the Half Shell has LIVE musicians/bands almost every day of the week. Check the schedule for upcoming events. They never fail to impress the crowd. Oysters are ALWAYS amazing! Service is great, every time. Decor is unique, interesting, and colorful. Lots of seating available. I'll absolutely be back, and I'll bring friends!

Grilled mahi mahi was excellent! Fast friendly service as well. Next visit had the fried catfish and shrimp. Perfectly cooked, seasoned batter, very good. Came with a huge salad.
