I guess I better book another place to stay when I bring my grandchildren there for a weekend getaway. This place looks like a dump! Thanks to the reviewers for their honesty and for saving others from dealing with the tragedy! Had to click a star to post.

For those of you familiar with the show hotel hell, this place is the "before" version. Amenities & Features Experience: When you see advertisements for this place don't trust the listed amenities are features. There are NO TOWELS PROVIDED at this place. There are NO PHONES in the rooms. There's a yellow sticker from the health department that says the pool is closed because it failed to meet the minimum standards. It says continental breakfast and there is a space that appears to be a serving area for a continental breakfast however turn breakfast should be used lightly. I went down at 8:00 this morning and there was cereal but no milk whatsoever there was coffee but there was no waffle mix there was no biscuits there was a spattering of gravy somewhere in a pan and all of the juice in the dispensers were just water. I told the gentleman at the front desk that some of the items needed to be replenished and he looked at me and asked "did you check?". I looked at him with an "are you serious" gaze, including two obvious blinks, I told him I would be returned back down in 15 minutes. I gave him 20 minutes. When I returned the only difference was what little of the dry cereal I observed 20 minutes before I had been taken. Property & Decor Experience Approaching the building the exterior appears clean and somewhat new. An observant eye will notice that there is some type of attempt to veil whichever branded chain the property may be a part of. There seems to be ample parking, although that could be because there was only three cars in the parking lot. The lobby appeared clean. It's when you're going to room you enter another dimension. The light airy ambience of the lobby is replaced quite abruptly by a dingy outdated and I'll say shady decor. Most of the walls in the halls have bubbled or have warped from water damage. The medium brown carpet was littered with debris, filth, and even dog excrement (at least I hope it was dog). The rooms are even more outdated. You won't find the phone in your room. The TV service works about half the time. Did I mention that this place does not provide towels? That's kind of important. I thought it was an oversight so I went down to the front desk and asked for towels and I was told they will provide towels. So I had to dry off using an old t-shirt. The people to see out into the hallway have been removed completely and there was literally just a hole in the door right there with a piece of black electrical tape covering it that falls off very easily so anybody can walk by and see you in your room. Can you just in case that pastor by one of the better look you'll notice there's probably about an inch wide Gap or more all around the door between the door and the frame. I will say there is a refrigerator and a microwave both of which appear to operate. There is an alarm clock provided as well. We found dried blood splattered on our bathroom floor which you'll see in the videos attached to this review. Service experience: I really wish these people would look up the definition of hospitality memorize it and recite it verbatim everyday. Warm and friendly is not the vibe they exude. They may even get special bonus points for apathy. So the plumbing is causing an issue with the place downstairs and it was leaking from supposedly our room. We did nothing to cause this. But we were being asked to move we had to move rooms but they said they had no more rooms available so they asked us to leave the property we said we needed some time to find another location they refused to do that and they kept yelling at us to leave the property it's 41° outside and we got nowhere to go and they want us to leave and they wouldn't even listen to reason I never seen such unprofessionalism and such attitude and I never want to deal with this property again. This is not hospitality this is inhumanity. Overall: If you're thinking about this hotel are you headed this way do yourself a favor and keep looking. After staying here I feel like I need to visit the doctor first to get vaccinated for everything again

Worst ever! First off, waited & waited while the girl was on the phone; the language barrier was, well neither of us could speak each other’s language; my broken Spanish & luckily a housekeeper that was there assisted in the checkin process. Walking to our room, the hallway remakes of cigarettes, carpet so worn. The hallways apparently haven’t been renovated. Now the room is what did me in! The door didn’t even shut! The carpet was torn, the extra lock part was broken. No pillows on the bed. Fridge didn’t work. The sink leaked so bad the trash can was under the pipes. Back to the desk, the guy says we can leave. I say I want a new room with a door that LOCKS and STAYS CLOSED. Next room did meet those standards, but that is where it ended. Linens stained. Only two towels in a weird shade of gray. No smoke detector, wires exposed where it should go. Why didn’t I read the reviews?!? Ugh… well as I’m typing from the Holiday Inn pool area. I laugh at how my kid made the comment how we’ve seen the ghetto of Omaha & now we can feel safe again. Life lesson for the day I guess!

If you want a character building experience, book a room here. We booked it because it was cheap and close to the zoo, but that was a mistake we won't make again. Our room smelled like smoke after we requested a non-smoking room, and there were burn marks in one of the sheets. There were poorly repaired patches in the ceiling. And as a plumber, there were so many things wrong in the bathroom on top of it being filthy. I'd give it zero stars if I could. If there's anything to take away from the experience, hopefully this review keeps others from making the mistake we did.

If I could give zero stars I would. This hotel is awful. The service sucks, the guy at the desk at 3 this morning couldn't even do his job correctly and barely understood English. They "no showed" our booking and tried to charge us again even though we had our reservation information. The second floor is dirty and smells horrid, no elevator, has no business being open during their so called renovations. Room smelt weird, no trash can, one towel for four people, tv wasn't even plugged in properly and also had no sound and the color was off. Far from a Comfort Inn.

This place goes by three names, Omaha Zoo Hotel, Comfort Suites and Howard Johnson. Stay away, it is a dump. I doubt the city is aware how bad this condition of this place is. I understand it was recently purchased, so renovations are happening. At least make it nice and comfortable or open once construction is complete. I did not stay, I was not going to let my family stay in this place.

This hotel is DISGUSTING filthy, smells horrid, not as pictured at all!! Service sucked. We had 1 towel and dirty linens and they refused us new ones or more. Pool was so gross I would never stick a foot in it. The check in lady was hard to understand. We booked a king room and they gave a double twin room. Tried to tell us we couldn't have a king. Then my bf booked with a card online and they made us give a card for a deposit and ended up charging that for the room. Overall worst experience. Don't stay here.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. I’ve never been so disgusted in a hotel. They said they recently acquired it and are renovating it…well they need to close it down until they finish. It stinks, holes in the wall, dirty and stained carpet, ripped trim, peeling roof…that was just our walk to the room. Once in the room the lights weren’t bright enough to even be able to read…with my phone flashlight I could tell the pillows were stained yellow and stunk. The AC was blowing hot moist air, the bathroom was dirty, tub was peeling, walls stained…just overall the nastiest hotel I’ve ever been in and I have trouble understanding how they aren’t forced to close down. To me it looks like the hotel was abandoned for a year or 2 until “new management” took over. They should honestly pay you for staying there.
