Highly recommend the Olde Mill Inn as a site for an event. We hosted a celebration of life luncheon there in the Hunt Room (attached to the Grain House restaurant). Space was lovely, adjacent to a large covered patio. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating, both in terms of advance planning and on the day of the event. The hotel was comfortable, with impressive breakfast spreads, and a reasonable group price.

Spent a recent Sunday night here while on some quick personal business in the area. I’d been aware of this property and its excellent reputation for many years, having lived in the general vicinity for a long time. But, having recently relocated, finally had an excuse to spend an overnight. ||WHAT WAS GOOD: Buildings and grounds here are elegant and beautifully maintained. This has the look and feel of an upscale property but at a reasonable price….Our room was nicely decorated and the bedding exceptionally comfortable. There was a fridge and a good quality Keurig with nice hot beverage choices….The complimentary breakfast was very good, with a good selection of both hot and cold items….The Grain House was just steps away and provided a nice dinner experience….I spent a couple minutes enjoying the peaceful and serene central courtyard after breakfast….Staff were efficient, helpful, professional and slightly reserved, as you might expect in New Jersey’s Somerset hills area. ||WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: It’s no fault of the management that the property happens to lie right along busy I-287. Road noise is definitely an issue. Thankfully the white noise provided by the A/C unit throughout our entire stay mitigated any concerns for sleep quality. (Of course, the upside is that the property is very convenient to the highways and easy to reach.)||THINGS TO KNOW: You’re probably aware that this is a popular wedding venue. Things were quiet during our Sunday night stay but I would imagine the place could get quite busy at certain times.||BOTTOM LINE: We had an excellent stay at what I thought was a reasonable price for the overall quality. I would recommend and would stay again if the opportunity arises.

Just attended a wedding there and stayed for two nights. Although the place is nice and the staff is very pleasant, the rooms are terrible. As stated in previous reviews on their website, the rooms are very musty and smell. There is also a horrible and disgusting smell that comes out of the air conditioner and mold was growing on the vents where the air blows out of it. The air conditioner units are very old and definitely need to be replaced! The rooms are not well lit and everything in the room seemed damp from being so musty. The ceiling is stained, walls are dirty and dusty, there is chipped paint throughout the room and broken tiles in the bathroom. There is a highway right behind the hotel and it is very noisy. The free breakfast doesn’t offer much and it is not that good and the coffee they provide with the breakfast comes out of a vending type machine. They did have a Keurig coffee maker in the room but who knows if it has ever been cleaned, I wouldn’t use it. They offered a wide variety of appetizers for the cocktail hour however I only tried a few. The penne vodka was very good, but the fried Mac n cheese balls had no taste at all. I also tried the grilled eggplant but it was so rubbery I couldn’t even chew it. I chose the stuffed chicken breast for my dinner but it was extremely salty and it was so dried out you could barely cut it let alone chew it. My husband tasted it and immediately spit it out it was so bad. Thankfully it came with two tiny roasted potatoes and a few carrots that were ok so I was able to eat something. I would have asked for a different one but all the stuffed chicken looked terribly overcooked. My husband chose the beef dish which he said was very good. Needless to say I will never stay here again!!

The Olde Mill Inn is a fantastic venue! Its charming historic architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds offer a picturesque backdrop for capturing stunning footage. The elegant ballroom, cozy library, and serene garden areas provide a variety of enchanting settings for every part of the celebration. The natural light streaming through the windows and the warm, inviting ambiance make every shot feel intimate and magical. The staff’s attentiveness and professionalism ensure a smooth and enjoyable filming experience. The Olde Mill Inn perfectly combines timeless charm with modern amenities.

I did not stay here. Accidentally pulled in and used the restroom. But the place was pretty amazing looking. We spent the next hour of our drive just talking about the place, atmosphere, decor, and all the seasons we would love to come and stay.

We had our wedding here in April 2024 at the grain house. My matre'D was John; he's a quirky, helpful, supportive person who helped facilitated our wedding in which all the feedback we got friends and family were positive ! Also got the honeymoon suit, so helpful for getting ready for the bridal party. Would recommend.

Where do I even begin? We got married at the Grain House at the Old Mill Inn on May 23, 2024 and it was nothing short of perfect. The entire wedding planning process was made easy thanks to everyone at the Old Mill Inn and Grain House. They are very responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. My grandmother and grandfather had their wedding reception here back in 1957, so I knew I wanted to meet with them to discuss having my wedding there. It was the first and only venue we met with. After going on a tour and discussing the different packages with Lea, I was sold. They take care of your accommodations, catering, bar, cake, tables, chairs, etc. My wedding planning “to-do” list was cut in half! Everyone is so accommodating and they really work with you to make sure your day goes perfectly. So many guests told us how they never experienced wedding food to this level. Everything was DELICIOUS! Better yet, we actually got to eat as the bride and groom. The property itself is gorgeous. John was our Matre d’ and he was the best! He made sure we stayed on time, he ran food from the cocktail hour to me and my husband when we were taking photos, and he coordinated with our vendors so we didn’t have to worry. His efforts did not go unnoticed. Once again I had guests come up to me and tell me how amazing he is. I also had guests reach out after to tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been too. All of our vendors were fantastic but the Old Mill Inn and Grain House really did the bulk of the work to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself was wonderful to stay in, everything is so clean and the breakfast is delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day, everything was perfect and I really have the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to thank for that. I would recommend the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to anyone planning a wedding. It really is the ONLY choice in my opinion. You will not be disappointed. Photos by Ali Cushing Photography

We got married here in the summer of 2022 and I cannot say enough nice things about the Olde Mill Inn. All the staff (from the wait staff, to the sales team, reception desk, and maitre'd) were so accommodating and responsive during the whole wedding planning process from when we first inquired to our first anniversary that we celebrated when we returned to the Inn. We chose this location because it was so close to NY and it is on the commuter line so it is easy to get to for guests flying in or taking the train. It is nice that there is a courtyard-- our guests loved having their coffee on their balcony during non-wedding times. The local bar/restaurant is a nice touch that our guests enjoyed. The Olde Mill Inn was so accommodating with dietary restrictions for the wedding menu as well. Our guests still RAVE about the food! There is also a cafe across the street that has a lot of health-conscious food and vegan options.
