It’s a beautiful setting. It had been recommended by two friends to request the house for dining as it is cozier and beautiful- we had a reservation but waited for 30 min for our table. We were so excited to try this new restaurant we figured worth the wait ! The manager was incredibly nice about our wait.. However when we were finally sat - i was very disappointed in the room in the house we were sat- it literally k looked like the overflow back room - not decorated nearly as nice or pretty , it was also very cold and drafty - no warmth , cluttered old stuffed dirty toys on stairs -no Christmas music was on- fireplace wasn’t lit because they said it will make it too hot. i did ask about the location they sat us in and then ended up feeling like l was being difficult🙄 . I know it was busy and I’m sure in the midst of holiday business her perception of me appeared that way. This was to be a very special dinner for our family and l understand the staff was busy and tired but for a pricey restaurant -it wasn’t what l expected. The food was very good and the wait staff was wonderful. Just wish they made that room we were sat in look as nice as the others and their wouldn’t have been an issue . And again it was really cold in there. So not the cozy beautiful Christmas Eve dinner we anticipated but the other rooms l took photos of were beautiful and glad other patrons were able to enjoy a festive evening. I probably won’t go back again due to the lack of proper customer service on my request and how l was made to feel on such an expensive restaurant.
We were married here 20 years ago, then celebrated our 20th anniversary here recently. Had not visited at all in those 20 years, but the charm & hospitality remained! Beautiful historic building. We sat in the sunroom, which is where our wedding reception was. Service was great, food was amazing. Definitely worth the trip up South Mountain!
Still a nice place to dine, but suffers from a lack of staff and difficulty in getting some food stuff. Reservations are a must, they were turning away walk-ins as they only had 2 servers. Service was excellent, food was good, but I missed the Beef Wellington that I had enjoyed before the pandemic.
We went for a nice Christmas lunch. The place is always decorated so nicely for Christmas. I believe you must have a reservation to diner at this particular moment.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner and everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, everyone including the owners were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome, even though it was very busy and they were working hard to keep up. The turkey dinners, especially the sweet potatoes, were delicious. The seasonal fresh cranberry martini was also tasty. It was our first time there and we hope to be back soon. Thank you to the staff and owners for making our holiday dinner so very nice.
We went for my birthday. The food was exceptional. The cream of crab was out of this world. Prime Rib was exquisite. Can't say enough good things. Service was outstanding. We will definitely be returning. A hidden gem 💎
Have been multiple times for anniversaries and holidays. The main dining room with its huge window overlooking South Mountain when the snow is falling is magical. Although the smaller front room with more intimate tables and roaring fireplace going sets a fantastic mood as well. The food was equally spectacular when dining with my wife or with the kids in tow. Will definitely be coming back again in the near future.
This is one the best restaurants in the area. Every single time my wife and I have been there, the service (especially Karen!) was amazing, the food was always cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere, cozy and inviting. On a side note, one of our great friends knew how much we loved Old South Maintain Inn and found this most excellent picture at an antique store and gave it to us a gift! Old South Mountain Inn will be missed.

Great little park with a dam water fall. Up stream from the dam is about a mile of calm creek you can boat on and a place across the street you can rent a boat or go on longer river trips. They have added some swings that are really cool
Have gone there on many solo camps. Definitely one of my more favorite State Parks to visit. Staff are always friendly and expensive helpful. Bathrooms damn near spotless!!! Itâs not far from the town to get whatever you forgot on your way there ð
