Part of a dual site along with the Old State House, this is a smaller but still very interesting site. Along one side are displays charting the history of the site through the years based around different topics such as the Revolution and preservation. Don't miss the timeline close by as well, it's really helpful putting everything in context. You can sit in most of the pews too apart from the historical one in the corner! Everything is pretty much in the one room (rest rooms are on lower level) so this is a great one if you're short on time. At the moment, entry/exit is through the same door although there used to be a small gift shop on the lower level with an exit there so I'm not sure if that is permanently closed or has moved to seasonal opening.
Very beautiful amazing place, I have made the 3D puzzle of this historic building because I love it's architecture and the revolutionary history associated with it, you can get a kit of my 3D by seaching for Models of Monuments on google/Instagram/Facebook or visit the Old State House Museum. It' s one of Boston's must-see places
This is a must stop during the Freedom Trail! So much history around this place! The exhibition was very interesting! Tickets $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. They give military and some other discounts.
Beautiful historic building with some interesting exhibits. Had a bunch of great activities for the kids that including some learning about colonial Boston and the meeting house.
Historical and beautiful meeting house. Staff here are very educated on the history and informative for visitors.
I had entry to the Old South Meeting House as part of the GoCity pass. I’m glad I was able work this sight in. I learned a lot about its history and its significance. I really liked how it was accessible and one could sit in the pews / benches and be transported back in history. Fun fact from the docent - the square seating areas were rented by prominent families annually and was used to bring in cushions and other conveniences for the regular 6-7 church service.
It was a neat piece of history that is still around to see where this country all started with a little tea.
The enormity of the significance of this building hits you squarely when you walk through the door. This was one of my most anticipated stops on The Freedom Trail and I wasn't disappointed. To know that we were standing in the same room that the Declararion of Independence was read aloud gave me chills. Such an important piece in America's history. Don't miss this when you visit Boston!
