Old Orchard Beach Inn is a truly interesting place to stay. To say it has character is a bit of an understatement. It has character and charm and is quite quirky in the best ways. ||We were greeted by a striking young woman who instantly made us feel welcome and comfortable. She was patient in her explanation that we were in a different building from the main office, but made sure we were very clear on the set up. ||Our room was in the third building and featured a queen size bed and a twin bed as we were traveling with our daughter. It was quite comfortable and we had a private bathroom, as well, although the bathroom was in a shared hallway. This was not a problem, though, and gave us something to talk and laugh about. ||The private bathroom was well appointed, as was our room, and we loved the charm of the old home that the Old Orchard Beach Inn has set up as part of the Inn. The wooden staircase was beautiful that led to our second story room, for example, and I wish I would have had time to explore more of the features. ||I did enjoy the complimentary breakfast the next morning. It was fairly typical for a motel breakfast, but the food was hot and fresh and tasty. I will definitely come back again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the old furnishings and home which was very similar to my own 1800 house. I also got a good night sleep. But I will say that the king size bed mattress itself was old and was not firm. You sunk in it. It didn’t hold you on top of it. It folded you like a taco. 😀 The rug was also kind of gross. Just old and stained it definitely needs some TLC to make you feel like you’re in a fresh clean room. Whoever cleaned, it, really should pay attention to detail because there was towel fuzz on the floor Bobby pins in the drawer of the dresser and it just showed that whoever cleaned it did not have a good eye for attention to detail, and you actually felt it in there. The breakfast was very good. I do wish that there was an option to have coffee pots in the rooms instead of just out in the open so if you feel like waking up and not getting dressed, you don’t have to. Otherwise, the only option is to get dressed and go out of your room. The best aspect is that it is a five to 10 min walk to the pier.

The Old Orchard Beach Inn is an historic building tastefully preserved while providing comfort and hospitality to weary travelers. ||On a vacation planned elsewhere in Maine, my vehicle suddenly died on a Sunday morning with no open auto repair, and 470 miles from home, I am stranded. It's summer and Old Orchard Beach is a popular vacation spot. AAA steered me to one of the last rooms available at this bed and breakfast. Their reviews promised clean, comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. ||I got so much more! The end is over 200 years old, and still laid out pretty much as it would have served visitors in the Victorian era. My room is decorated with tasteful wallpaper, lacy curtains, quilt covered cherry bed frame and what I'm almost sure are the original ceiling beams . But I also have a modern TV, dorm- sized refrigerator with freezer and microwave, WiFi and clean flooring. The mattress is divine. The bathroom accoutrements are high quality. This morning's complimentary breakfast included fresh watermelon, eggs, toast, yogurt -- and delicious coffee. And most of all, every single staff member has gone out of their way to smile, offer suggestions, point out amenities and in every way make what would otherwise be a bad situation absolutely bearable. ||Bonus: the beach is visible from the top floor and only a five minute walk away.

The old orchard beach inn is simply perfect. We went with my parents and my boyfriend and we truly had the best time. We got to enjoy the super good breakfast and the pool which was perfect because it was hot! A special thank you to Omar, who upgraded my boyfriend and I! You are a wonderful employee :) the hotel is near the beach, and the little poarch in front of it is just amazing for 5 to 7 wine time! The beach inn is super charming and makes us feel like we are in the 60s! Our stay was truly perfect. Thank you all again!

We were grossly disappointed with our experience. We were to stay for 3 nights and after two nights we left. I tried to bare with it but just could not. |The pillows were flat, the room was damp, the bed was as old as time - no support, saggy, and they threw a foam topper on top and a sheet - no mattress protector and in the humid environment the cheap topper was nasty. No barrier - very unsanitary. |But the worst was the amount of chemical cleaner they used. My eyes burned, my throat burned - it was incredibly toxic. It would hit you like a brick wall as you enter the building. Almost as if they were trying to hid something - it was incredibly strong. ||We were informed about the included breakfast until 10am. At 9:10 we went to breakfast. They were low on food, the employee stated that they would not be able to make more than what was available as it would take to long....50 minutes prior to "breakfast" being over. ||We arrived back to hotel after a wedding at 11:45pm, we asked the front desk person for two bottles of water and she said that she could not give us any as only the housekeepers could supply water. We then asked if we could buy water and she said that would not be possible as they do not sell water. ???????? Absurd.||The location was great and two of the staff members were friendly and pleasant. I do not recommend staying here.

Avoid avoid avoid. This place is not as it’s described in its listing. It’s supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but we were presented with a heavily smoke smelling room which my infant daughter couldn’t sleep in due to a respiratory condition. Manager refused to allow us to swop rooms, refused to engage with me, refused to even acknowledge the smell at all. In fact he was very unpleasant and unprofessional. My daughter had to sleep on a blow up mattress on the floor of the second room; he refused any help to sort the issue out. |Additionally, the beds are the creakiest old things I’ve ever come across that wake you up whenever you turn over, there are no curtains on the windows so kids will be up at dawn and the cleanliness was also a problem in the bathroom. If the sun doesn’t wake you the trains hooting their horns starting at 0500 will! |Breakfast was utter chaos and randomly happens in another B&B a couple of houses up the road. Not sure why, but not enough room or seats for everyone. |Apparently this place used to have a great reputation, but it’s been bought out so the previous reviews are sadly no longer true. |If you’re happy with all that crack on and book it. Otherwise, I’d stay away and find somewhere else!!

Lovely historic inn in a great location! An easy walk to the pier, beach, restaurants, and entertainment. The rooms are cute and the beds are comfortable! There are air conditioning units, TVs, microwaves, and refrigerators in the rooms. Breakfast is included for guests.

Pleasant enough for one night. Was not aware Old Orchard Inn had expanded and purchased the Atlantic Birches Inn. Staff barely spoke English. Upon arrival I was slightly confused where to check in. When I walked in I was not greeted warmly but asked for card and ID for reservation. Once checked in I was brought to my room by a young gentleman who didn’t seem to understand English when I asked clarifying questions about breakfast and the Inn. My daughter and I had a small room upstairs in the “second” building. It was quaint but I had expected to stay in the main OOB Inn. The Wi-Fi was unstable and difficult to connect. The room itself was clean however the shower curtain came undone at the simple touch and I had to keep trying to put it back on. There was trash among the grounds that was there both Thursday and Friday. Staff was not overly friendly. In some ways I felt like an unwanted guest. The pool was clean enough and quiet. The TV in the room worked briefly before the Wi-Fi went out. The Wi-Fi login information was outdated and not working in our building. I liked that the main door of our building was locked however I had question of how secure our room was. The bed was older and a bit uncomfortable but not terrible, could invest in higher quality pillows for certain. Mini fridge worked, AC worked well. Breakfast was impersonal and reminded me of continental at chain hotels. Didn’t feel like staying in an inn aside from the charm of the old buildings. Very impersonal and lacked the welcome factor I’ve found in other bed and breakfasts. I feel they have lots of room for improvement and things they could do to make the stay more comfortable and warm. However we were otherwise left alone and had a nice overnight stay in the area. I would consider returning to give them a second chance as I understand it’s recently under new ownership, I hope the owners decide to become more personal and to take good care of the grounds. There was an empty blunt container out in the open and kids on site. The staff seemed disinterested as it appears they are just there working for the summer. They didn’t seem to know much about the inn or the owners. Also, when I made the reservation online I called to request a room with bath tub, I was never called back. I was not given a tour or any information about the inn or where we could explore. Very impersonal compared to other B&B/inns I’ve been to. This inn is in desperate need of friendly service and personalization as well as some much needed updates and a good home made breakfast.

Great neighborhood spot to see a show. Just be aware there is very limited parking, so shuttle buses take you from Old Orchard Beach High School to the venue. Arrive early!
