No farm there! Just stone beaches, but very nice and quiet, except for the flat, black stones that make this rumbling sound when the waves pull them back out to sea.
Loved this hidden gem! The views from here are so beautiful. It's a great place to come and unwind since it's usually very quiet.
Parking spots are easy to passing by. So look on your left.on road side .With the big rock. Beautiful beach with millions rocks. The sound of ocean.
Nice, shady walk for folks that want to get out into nature and see some some trees and phantoms. Great for kids and adults. The foundation of Mr. Dorr's estate is interesting to stand on and contemplate the brevity of our time on the planet and how death needs time for what it kills to grow in. Don't miss your chance to saunter in this forest if you're in the area and speak lightly....only whisper if it's dark.
Short, easy hike in forest area and down to a rock and pebble beach. During high tide there's a thin strip on beach but during low tide there are more rocks to climb on. The water is very clear and you can see a lot in the rock pools. A great first hike for young kids or with dogs.
For a short walk/hike, this is a place to go. It also connects to other trails, in case you want to go further and have the time to so do.
Gorgeous, easy hike with historic ruins.
I have just returned from my first trip to Bar Harbor off a cruise ship and hiked with local Mary O through the woods to the Old Farm home place ruins of my distant cousin, George Dorr. He and my great great grandfather were 4th cousins. It was a moving experience to observe the beauty of this area and to read about George's unrelenting efforts to get Acadia established. I will return again in the months ahead having read by then both his memoir and the new biography by Ron Epp both available at the book store in Bar Harbor. My next visit will be much longer not a day excursion for sure. Jean Dorr Lusted
The innkeeper Chris was so warm and intentional and present, making us feel welcome. He also stayed up personally make sure we could get in very late at night, helped us plan around the marathon so we still had a stellar couple days. We stayed in Oct
This is the place to go if you want coffee and a nice breakfast sandwich with chill vibes. I highly recommend the âBlack Pumpkinâ. Their iced coffee black with their pumpkin flavoring is perfect. No creamer necessary.

What a great Bed & Breakfast! We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor. It was clean, spacious, had a comfortable bed and lots of natural lighting. The en-suite bathroom was also spacious and we enjoyed the new shower with multiple jets.

Very homey and comfortable with a great breakfast. Stayed three nights and had a different breakfast each day. They have a hot water machine in the dining room and a comfortable living room to hang out in.
Parking was large enough for a large jeep.
Visited in the off season, stunning easy flat walk, while not paved it is for the most part accessible and hazard free. For folks that like to climb on rocks atleast during our visit we where able to climb around on the rocks during lower tide
This was such a beautiful place for an easy hike. We loved that it wasn't crowded and the views at the end were breathtaking! Make sure check the rocky areas in the water for seals!
