Fantastic location and decent sites. Was concerned staying because no recent reviews, but stayed about 2 weeks and enjoyed it. Some sites pretty tight but others not too bad. Showers and bathrooms are what you would expect at a county park. Clean but basic. Our 50 amp service kept tripping surge protector because it was dropping below minimum levels for some reason. All in all we would stay there again.
Our visit to Oceano Campground was marred by an unacceptable incident of racial discrimination. Ranger Bill Brooks woke us up at 9 AM, accused us of squatting, and called the sheriffs to remove us, despite being invited guests. The entire experience was humiliating and racially charged. This campground is not a welcoming place for people of color. Until proper action is taken against such discriminatory behavior, I cannot recommend staying here.
A small (23 sites) quiet, inexpensive, campground within walking distance from the beach. Full hookups and the 50am power is full power. The bathrooms and showers are basic, coin operated (3 minutes per $1) It’s next to a small park with lagoon that is fishable, and paddle-worthy. The only hand-launch is across the road from the campground. Lots to do in this area, just a few minutes away by bicycle or car.
Not a bad place, just not good. Told maintenance about broken toilet, next day still wasn't fixed or "closed" note on door. Shower took my token, but didn't work--had to get re-dressed and change shower room. Homeless digging thru dumpster and recycling cans, I wonder if they're also snooping through the campsite at night....?
It's nice but it gets crowded easily. Only complaint is the park is so small, it's easy to crowd the little road around the park. Fair warning, the park is so small that if anybody is playing loud music into the evening, you're gonna hear it. Airplane noise from the airport is a little startling at first but you get used to it if you stay for a few days.
That's a lot of the people there keep their dogs OFF a leash. When walking them there is no problem, our dogs are not violet and mind and always on a leash also pick up your poop. Nice campground but locals walk big dogs there at the park.
Great location near the beach and restaurants. Very small campground and your neighbors are in close proximity to your site. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs because the birds are so freakin loud. There is also a wooden bridge that cars drive by and it sounds like thunder or a train every time. So loud. The restrooms are dated but cleaner than most (although my husband said the men's was dirty). Overall, nice campground. Would come back but def not 5 stars.
Nice enough campground and it is just a short walk to the beach and it is well maintained. Would have given it more of a rating but the majority of the sites are small and I had a hard time fitting my 25 ft trailer into the spot they gave me so I had to move. There is a small wooden bridge about 20 yards from here and it sounds like a train when cars go over it. There is a nice park across the street but it is occupied by a large number of homeless who also come over and use the bathrooms in the campground as the doors do not lock. Nothing like waking into the bathroom to find a homeless person bathing in the sink.
Stayed in a RV spot. Really convenient access to dunes, great for kids. Their office and store are still under construction though so no arcades or ice cream. Bathrooms are fine, a little small but clean. Picnic table provided but no fire pit. Neighb
I've lived on the central coast for ten years now and these are the best tacos I've had. We got the chicken, asada, and pastor tacos. They came with a spicy tomatillo salsa and were all absolutely delicious. We also tried the quesa birria, which is o
Fantastic coffee. I'm normally a light roast guy, because I think you can get more delicate flavors from it, and I find most dark roasts aren't very complex. But this place had a fantastic, smooth dark roast that really brought out some wonderful f
Very nice, well kept park. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, open spaces, nice bathrooms, gr8 kid play area, and close to the beach. Dogs need to be on the leash due to no fencing around park.
Overall great place to sit down and casually dine or take to go. Food and drinks are well made to order, very fresh and authentic flavors. Service is friendly.
