Ocean Plaza Motel - Motel in Myrtle Beach - 1005 S Ocean Blvd, USA

If you enjoy staying at a place that smells, the employees could care less and don't know where anything is. Maybe you'd enjoy the AC not working or being blocked so the room never cools off. Can't use the bathroom without having a heat stroke, and the rooms being infested with roaches. Tight parking lot if you get lucky if not you'll have to park next door and walk around the building or down in the lower level and walk up a steep incline. If that sounds like a good time then this "hotel" is the one for you.

Well, how do I start this??? When we arrived, we were asked to pay a $100 CASH deposit. Signed my papers and went to the room we were assigned. When I opened the door, both beds were unmade, the TV left on, footprints (from the sand) were on the floor and the bathroom was DISGUSTING!!! I went back to the receptionist (who, all and all, was wonderful) to make a compliant, showed her the pictures so it shows that I wasn’t lying and she IMMEDIATELY got me and my brother another room. So far, it’s been better than the first room. We’ll see how the rest of this vacation goes!! 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Check in took forever. Also had to give a cash $100 deposit. Carpet on bedroom floor was extremely dirty. Hair on sheets on one of the beds. Sliding door to balcony very hard to open. Outside hallways smelled of rotten garbage. Had to wait until 8:30am to check out.

The hotel is in terrible condition and is beyond an update. It would need to be rebuilt. The location is great! You can walk to many restaurants and stores. The beach is right behind the motel. If you're looking for a great and convenient location, you can't go wrong. The housekeeping service leaves much to be desired. Not sure when the last time they vacuumed but the sand in the carpet is terrible!

Budget friendly! Ocean front and in a great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, it was spring break so there was some loud crowds up late. Staff was wonderful! The front desk lady Mickalia was very friendly and helpful, and she made mine and my sons stay for his cheer competition very pleasant! Indoor pool was very cold but there was a hot tub to enjoy.

Ocean Plaza Motel is a hidden gem! This cozy motel offers comfortable rooms, a convenient location, and stunning ocean views. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the affordability and cleanliness of the room. A great option for a budget-friendly beach getaway - 4/5 stars! Perfect for those who want to be close to the action without breaking the bank.

Totally disgusting. Our AC unit was leaking water onto the floor inside the room, so our room smelled like MOLD. We found SEVERAL COCKROACHES throughout our stay. Some inside the shower, some seen crawling under the refrigerator, some on the walls in the main room, and some crawling around the toilet. COMPLETELY DISGUSTING. Room was in no way cleaned, disgusting body hair on the toilet. Plus, an insane cash deposit of over $100+. Can you imagine a ROACH-INFESTED motel requiring a cash deposit? You already have roaches, how much worse can it get? The pool(s) were utterly disgusting. Did not swim in fear of my own safety. You literally have to avoid stepping on roaches when going to the bathroom at night.

Location is wonderful but the service sucks, the toilet doesn’t work half the time it takes over a hour just to fill up, the cleaners don’t even come in to change the sheets, change the trash nothing. The ac works about half. When you call down to guest services to tell them about something they say they’ll be right up but never come. The water pressure is horrible, and if you have kids they can’t even get a proper bath… they don’t even have the proper drain for the tub. Definitely not a good hotel to stay at. 1 elevator that can only fit 5 people on and takes forever to even get to you. Only 2 outlets work in the entire room.
