FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS BEACH in the first few steps off of the boardwalk nestled in the mangroves and into the soft, beige sand. The timing and location of high tide left me with a wide treasure trove of beautiful shells to comb through on a walk after dinner, as well as smooth impeccably clean sand that begged me to kick off my designer flops and skip through the waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean at a refreshing-not-frigid 84 degrees. The gorgeous horizon and perfect rainbow made this experience unforgettable. As if it couldn't get better, the beach was populated with families, but remained serene and stress-free enough to bask alongside adorable crabs tossed in by a playful wave. One note: The tide is a bit strong as it goes out, so keep a close eye on the kiddos. Rip currents may be strong. So, review with your children the informative signs on what to do if caught in one; and then sit back and enjoy!
Went on a Sunday morning. It was not crowded at all. Beaches were clean and relaxed. Paid $7.50 for parking for 3 hours. You should be and experienced swimmer since the waves can be a little rough.
I love these public beaches that I can stop bye on my way down the a1a. They're clean. They're a great place to just sit and watch the waves for a while.

Not one of the best beaches because the water was super rough and there was a huge drop in elevation when getting to the water. Not the best for kids but for surfing it was great!
Nice beach but the website states FREE PARKING but it's $2.50 per hour, paid at a kiosk that didn't work, had to download an app. Fort Desoto has a lot more to offer and is only $5 for the entire day. Update your website and fix your pay kiosk then I might return.
Curtis Byrd Bch has a nice small town atmosphere, not overly crowded, although more crowded that the beaches to the south. It nice colorful little Picnic Tables with coverings, 2 sand volloeyball courts.
Very clean and scenic picnic spot. We enjoyed our lunch with our puppies and daughter while working our way down the coast to key west.
Clear blue water and great covered picnic benches. Also had restrooms that were clean to use

Such a great beach. Noticed they now have an option to pay for parking option rather than the old meter parking. The seashore is tremendous. Lots of room to move, walk, swim. Perfect on a weekday afternoon. Enjoy the wildlife!
Excellent place to spend the day out camp near the water. I haven't ever seen so many sea turtles in one spot in my life. Boat ramp to launch a boat, intercoastal wade fishing is phenomenal. Kayak fishing is amazing, along with pier and jetty fishing
