Ocean East Resort Club - Resort hotel in Ormond Beach - 867 S Atlantic Ave, USA

My husband and I loved staying here for 7 days. We had a wonderful time. The room was very clean, it had everything we needed for us to prepare meals in the unit, and the people were very nice. The one thing we appreciated the most was seeing the place’s resiliency after Hurricane Ian. There was a screen showing the damages, and we could not believe it, because of how how the resort looked after it. Overall, we loved it!

Location on the beach. Older resort but well maintained. We had one issue with a non working icemaker which was replaced within the hour. ||||Only thing I would warn about is that the suites have a full sized bed. Not a double. Not a queen. Suite units are listed as appropriate for up no four adults. No way. Otherwise wwll maintained and quiet. Pool area is nice and security was checking and correcting behavior of kids running and throwing balls on the pool deck. ||||||I will also say that the on site restaurant was fairly priced and had very good food and service. ||||||Units are also older but very well built and quiet!

We had a horrible experience here. We drove from New Hampshire and when we got there our daughter came down with the flu and we decided to pack up and leave and they refused to refund us and the staff told my wife she should be a better mom and bring our daughter to the urgent care when we just wanted yo go home. The hotel was not accommodating and the staff talks down to you. I've found multiple other reviews stating the staff talks down to people. The washer and dryer made out clothes smell and the bed was the most horrible thing I've ever experienced. There was sand all over the carpet hallways and it was kept up with. You can only exchange linens once a week on certain a certain day and if you want more you have to pay. You have to rent the game room for your children but the times are limited due the event a they have in there. This resort is definitely geared towards older people so would not bring children. This place ruined our first family trip to Florida. Please beware and check other reviews before booking here.

Ocean East Resort is a small piece of paradise in Ormond Beach. The hotel is clean and rooms are well kept and kitchen well stocked to cook meals. Staff is friendly and courteous. I love the location where the ocean is your backyard and having a on site restaurant is a plus for those days you just want to relax on the beach. I LOVE this place 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Good: The 2 bedroom unit we stayed in was immaculately clean. The staff is professional and helpful. Security is tight but not obnoxious or disrespectful. No high pressure time share sales following you around.||The Bad: RCI Member trades are given the worst possible rooms and they absolutely will not move you. Our trade confirmation clearly stated we would not get an ocean side view room. Ok, I can live with that, but I wasn't expecting to be given a room that overlooked a dumpster. Our RCI trade unit overlooked the storage sheds and dumpsters of the Neighboring restaurant’. The trash hauler comes at 7:30Am to empty the dumpster (think LOUD back up beeping truck). The staff empties barrels of broken bottles and glass into the dumpster throughout the day (think loud breaking glass). The staff takes smoke breaks out there and you can hear their (sometimes not so nice) conversations. You can hear traffic all night long from loud motorcycles and trucks with loud revving mufflers.||There are not enough handicapped parking spaces although they do offer valet parking. We were only able to get a handicapped spot once in our entire week long stay there.||There are not enough dishes in the 2 bedroom unit that sleeps 6. If you want to eat more than one meal in your unit, you'll have to do dishes after every one. 6 adults in the two bedroom unit would be tight. There's only one bathroom.||They provide a start up supply of dish detergent and bar soap, but there's no shampoo. Thankfully there's a Publix right down the street so getting paper plates and shampoo was easy.||The Weird: The welcome packet with their rules and regulations states that "Fraternizing " with the staff was prohibited. That struck me as odd.

Outstanding location with a big pool area and activities Monday through Friday! We loved the 11am bingo every weekday and thoroughly enjoyed the super big hot tub in the evenings! We will absolutely return to Ocean East again.....

My family has been a very long time owner at this resort. The staff is normally very sweet and accommodating to all of your needs. During my visit in Dec. 2023 I was alone with my 2 young children. I strive to be sure that the room is cleaned up, dishes are done and put away (even though that is not protocol). On this particular stay I was charged a $25 cleaning fee that I feel is totally unwarranted. Instead of calling the owner to make them aware of the situation and discuss with he owner a fee is placed on the account and an a supposed email was sent (that was never received). Fast forward to today and I discover a questionable charge on my account. I am so disgusted with being charged for minor things on the floor.

Wow… where to even begin. The front desk was rude as can be and could barely answer a simple question. The security guard was extremely rude and yelled at other guests nearly unprovoked. Management has begun making decisions that are frankly baffling. Will never see this place again, and I’m glad! Beautiful location but terrible time.
