Ocean City Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Pontiac - 35 S Telegraph Rd, USA

Ok so i like to eat if you can't tell by my 500+ food reviews and a lot of people ask where is the best Chinese food in Oakland county and I always say it's right here at ocean city. The portions are huge big enough for two people. My personal favorite is the sweet and sour chicken. The dinner rolls you get when you dine in are absolutely the best thing. Super friendly staff and service is quick. Take out or dine in you can never go wrong with ocean city. Lots of parking available and there was a seat available as well.

I get take out at Ocean City around once a month for a friend dinner, and we are very pleased. The chicken and broccoli has super tender chicken and tender-crisp broccoli. The sweet-and-sour-shrimp is large, with excellent sauce. Well-stuffed and crispy egg rolls. Great price, generous portions, and careful cooking - kudos! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The food is great. But you must watch your totals on the pricing and they do not secure the foods properly. Even when I sit the food on the floor of my car, I still have gravy spilled everywhere. They should staple their combo boxes. They have also begun to put a lot less meat in the combos and too much rice. If you have leftovers, the rice is like plastic the next day. They are beginning to lose standards. I'm looking for another restaurant, although if you really love Chinese food that taste like your home cooking it's a challenge. They better wake up because there is someone better somewhere.

Never had a Chinese place garnish chicken with cucumber…and yes I did take a bite to confirm that it wasn’t zucchini

We ordered a carry out. Food has a very heavy batter. Decent just not great. Dine in would have been weird. One corner of the restaurant had a large pile of empty boxes. They were stacked near a table where people were eating. Not neatly just kinda thrown around.

The worst Chinese food. I’ve tried this place multiple times to make sure, but I have to say it is the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever experienced. They add water to stretch the sauces…probably to make more dishes and the food becomes soggy and without any flavor. It’s really surprising and disappointing. The frying oil is not changed out/cleaned enough because the taste is very strong and smells on the food- it’s not normal. Some chicken is too tough to chew while others will fall apart soggy in the same dish. I’ve tried the sesame chicken, orange chicken and sweet and sour dishes on multiple occasions just to make sure and be fair, and every time it was gross. It’s sad that they serve this to people, no one should have to eat watered down and soggy bland food. Like literally wet, not coated in a sauce normally. Please just go somewhere else, you’ll save your appetite and disappointment. Literally the worse Chinese food ever.

I don't think it's open for dining in anymore. But, carry-out is fast. Staff is friendly and efficient. There's always a short line when I pick up my order but it goes quick and almost always end up conversation with other patrons in line about the great food, the weather or some other positive type of small talk. We order dinner from ocean City at least twice a month and it's still a family fav! 😊

I didn't give a rating on atmosphere, since I ordered take away. I have been enjoying Ocean City for more than 20 years. I'm glad they made it through the pandemic. Whenever I'm near there, I make an order
