Ocean Beach Club - Hotel in Fort Lauderdale - 4051 N Ocean Blvd, USA

Absolutely horrible and very very rude. We booked the room understanding that, well 4 stars is ok with us….. bologna, it never should they have been given even one star. It’s the first time and 50 years of travel that I have ever felt the absolute necessity to leave hotel motel or hostel until I stayed here. We have been traveling and haven’t slept for 40 hours. We were very tired. In addition I can’t drive after dark. So, we were pretty much trapped for the night. We entered the room with looked fine, initially and then I made the mistake of getting in the shower after running it for quite some time it was cold…they had placed a temperature limiter, which was very obvious since the water coming out of the sink was hot. So I hopped out of the shower and grab a towel which is very stiff and felt like it was never allowed to go through the rinse cycle, apparently, the wash cycle either. I saw a big brown stain on it, it was kind of revolting. I got myself dried out with hand Towel, came out, and of course my body temperature had dropped having just taken a cold shower…I walked into the room which was exceptionally cold, so my husband went to the temperature from 69°. Over the next 45 minutes did not change at all the fan was on and there was no switch to turn the fan off so all night long cold air was blasting on the bed. We called down about 9 PM to ask for a blanket and we’re told if we wanted when we had to come down and get it. during the night we were so cold and my husband got up and open in the area where the heater was and checked the filter and it was completely clogged up. He cleared it out and replaced it but then we noticed that the output was blowing right on our bed was also plugged up. Of course we couldn’t get to that filter. So, thinking it will warm me up, I open a bottle of wine and went to pour it in the absolutely filthy wine glasses that have been put in the cupboard clearly unwashed. the man who was at the front desk in the evening was just plain rude and unaccommodating, no decent hotel would have a employee like that…Now, they are refusing to refund our money, yet required our keys be returned, suppose they are double renting? We left there and came to the Marriott a few miles away and got a cheaper room that is spotless, clean and warm. Beware of this place

I was very pleased walking into the hotel. Their lobby is decorated very nicely and smells really clean. The rooms were also up-to-date and spacious. The beds are extremely soft and comfortable. ||||Negatives: The bathroom is kinda dark and creepy looking. Maybe a new light would help

Rooms were clean. However, very outdated decor! We only stayed for one night December 23rd to Christmas Eve the 24th. I was extremely disappointed they had absolutely no Christmas decorations! For the price plus parking price of $12.00 I would have liked to see some Christmas cheer! Bed was comfortable. This was okay for the night we needed. However, I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again!

Hotel smells real bad in general, room is no exception. Most likely black mold now that I am reading other reviews..... Bathtub is clogged, we had to shower with water to our ankles. No hot water to shower with on the last night if my stay. Horrible wifi at night (after 21h). Can't load basic websites. Half the time it's impossible to have cold water from the sink. I do not recommend! Motel that charges like a hotel because of its location basically.

To say we were disappointed with this hotel is an understatement. We stayed for two nights before our carribean cruise. The hotel is dark and dingy, and the room decor was reminiscent of the 70's. The reception staff are very unhelpful and there is a strange vibe. We asked one to book a taxi and you'd have thought we'd asked him to do something illegal. We waited 10 mins so my husband asked where it was and he said he'd try again in 10 mins. The pool area is grubby and very unappealing. The location is awful, despite being across from the beach you have to walk miles up the road to access it as there are all apartment buildings with no access. There are no restaurants unless you like McDonald's and dunkin donuts. The only positive was the bed was comfortable.

We just stayed here for 4 days. The hotel was clean the housekeepers were even washing the walls in the hallways. The check encounter is very nice but the rooms were very small and dark and the TVs were old. I honestly felt claustrophobic staying in our room. I was very unhappy that there was no mirror in the sleeping area so that when someone was shaving or brushing their teeth, someone else could be using another mirror to get ready, the sink area was very small with the mirror. In fact, my elbows kept hitting the walls on both sides of me when I was trying to put my hair up in ponytail. The staff is very nice and helpful. Also, the microwave and coffee maker are very inconvenient. It’s very congested what they have placed them .

The hotel is pretty nice for the price. My room was clean and had everything I needed. I had a little dispute with management about a $9 parking fee. The fee was not disclosed in the right part of the booking site, as it was listed as an amenity and not a fee. Hopefully this will be corrected. Naturally I did not see the fee and was informed about it when I checked in. I made contact with the manager about it when I arrived home from my trip. He took my information and reviewed the situation and DID refund the parking fee. I felt like this was excellent customer service and very professional. I wish all hotels were managed this well. I feel like management will take care of you at the Ocean Beach Club. Highly recommended for this reason.

Great location, just one minute from the ocean. The hotel is old. Rooms are big, walls are in formica which probably helps with keeping noise out. My bed was super super soft, I don't like super soft. Bathroom was clean but basic/low quality amenities. Old carpet everywhere. Staff was nice. Parking is $9. Overall it was good for one night, maybe I would have stayed two at the most. Four star because less would be unfair to the people who work there and make it an acceptable hotel. The physical space deserve 1 start at the most. Too old, too updated, it needs big renovation.
