Oakland Marriott City Center - Hotel in Oakland - 1001 Broadway, USA

Check-in was quick and seamless thanks to Glenda's help! She was so kind, helpful, and accommodating. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. ||We stayed in a corner room on the 15th floor with a great view of the bay. The room was clean and comfortable for our quick getaway weekend. Sound traveled a bit through the walls; we could hear our neighbors from time to time.||The hotel was very full due to a spiritual convention. This led to the elevator taking quite some time to reach us, and the valet took a bit longer than usual. However, the valet team was consistently friendly and communicative throughout our stay. ||This was a great central location for those who want to explore Oakland and the neighboring towns.

Positive: Everything! The room was perfect for my trip which included entertainment 1 evening, work and relaxation other days. Negative: No, everything was great. Service, cleanliness, and customer service! The view from my room was beautiful too! I will be back!

Everything was good about my one-night stay - room clean and quiet and the breakfast options were delicious. However when I got my car from the overnight valet and opened the hatchback of my rental car, the car reeked of marijuana. The valets were nowhere in sight and we had to leave for our meeting. The smell got stronger though out the day because it was parked outside in they sun/heat. When I called the hotel, they said the valet had nothing to do with them and transferred me to the valet. The Valet manager was not there and has not returned my call. When I turned in my car to National, they immediately asked me if I'd smoked pot in the car. Fortunately they believed my explanation and didn't penalize me for the smell and smoking in the car. WARNING - Use self-park so that you can hold on to your keys!

Nice hotel with good views. I would stay there again. Chinatown being across the street is a fun experience- especially the grocery stores. The M Club lounge: it was nice that they had one, but breakfast was disappointing. Holiday Inn Expresses have a better breakfast which is sad. Top Golf driving simulator in the restaurant was fun. Bed was comfortable. AC did not get consistently cold each night (I like it cold when I sleep).

I've stayed at this hotel at least 10 times over the last couple of years. This is a great hotel and the best way to spend time in Oakland. The rooms are spacious and always clean. The reception staff is very personable and inviting. I want to especially recognize Rosa in the housekeeping department. About a month ago I forgot my wedding ring on the nightstand. I called the hotel and was eventually routed to Rosa. Along the way, each hotel employee I talked to was very helpful and empathetic. Rosa immediately tracked down the ring and coordinated with the UPS Store to have it returned to me. I was truly impressed and thankful for the personal touch provided by everyone, especially Rosa. Thanks very much to all. I look forward to my next stay at this excellent Marriott!

This facility is nice. Oakland is hit n miss with nice vs bad areas. This place is in a nice area yet two blocks in any direction could get you in trouble. Stay in the hotel area or Uber to nicer areas and you will be fine. Great staff. Very accommodating. The rooms are excellent. Great views. Only downside is they had no pool or any resort type amenities. It’s fantastic for business people and conventions types. Not so great for lengthy or leisurely stays.

The navigation to this property was a bit complicated, especially trying to find the parking garage. There was no information about it on their website. As a note, it is the same garage as the convention center! Hotel staff were responsive though, and overall helped to make my stay welcoming.

Overall I have nothing bad to say, the staff up front from my experience were very friendly and would give us water bottles to have in our room. There's not too much to do in that area unless you Uber somewhere. But overall it was a secure hotel they had security in the lobby and the rooms were clean
