Oakdell Motel - Motel in Waterford - 983 Hartford Turnpike, USA

Hi I’d like everyone to read about my experience at this wonderful Motel! It truly was wonderful! You will not meet nicer owners, they are honestly the best! Most Kind couple, just like they are Your best friends! As I had a lengthy stay with them, I was all smiles with this beautiful property. My Room was immaculate, had all new linens, Bathroom was a A+, plenty of towels too. Laundry on site was great and newer machines! Lots of parking, beautiful manicured lawn, looks like a big pool they have! I highly recommend Oakdell Motel to everyone!

Bring your own travel sized coffee maker and travel hair dryer.. Pool was closed in August was disappointing. Owner is nice he must have his reasons. I could see this being a nicer hotel with some added touches. No ice machine just visit the gas station for ice and snacks. No soap tray but nice tiled shower. Window was at eye level in the bathroom, I expected more privacy.. windows above your head but reachable. No need for noisy vent rattling. New A/C unit. Served it’s purpose when Mohegan was $500 on Saturday Jeff Dunham

My first concern should have been the "no refunds" sign on the front desk. We should have looked at the room before paying. In #6, black mold was growing in the shower. The shower control did not work correctly. Mildew on the shower curtain. No motel ice machine. No coffee in room. No hair dryer in room. This motel is tired and in need of a complete re-model. "Ann" was very nice and accommodating!

When I went into my room, it was so cold I could see my breath. None of the switches worked and it smelled old and dingy. There was a small old heater attached to the wall that should have been turn on before I got there, took hours to warm room up to be able to take jacket off . With the door closed I could still see outside with cold air leaking through. By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was a good thing I stayed there alone because a family with children would not have been able .

The owner is Great to deal with. Great rates yes, but you get what you pay for. In my room the floor appeared to be new. The dresser had holes drilled in it where something might have been attached at one time. The bed seemed to have a rubberized bottom sheet (understandably) but it didn't breathe and I woke up sweating. The tiny bathroom shower needed replacing. There's no place to set your shower items and the shower knob gets in the way of moving around. The TV was tiny. Overall I thought the place clean.

Outdated would be ok if place was clean. We paid $377.00 for 2 nights during hurricane and it was filthy. Tile floor and Carpet so filthy my 3rd pair of socks were still picking up dirt. Rusty heater. Old air unit so smelly we did not use it the 2and night . Opened windows to try to get musty smell out of room. Disgusted that health department doesn't check these places better for the public. Got a massive headache both days because of the smell. Do not stay here if you are smell sensitive. Room was gross. have 2

I write this review for the safety of people. This motel needs to be fully renovated before being open to the public. The rooms are full of mold and mildew. It was making us sick and had to ask for a refund. Other than that the owners are very pleasant l.

Great place to stay, staff is excellent and very accommodating, rooms are the perfect size and very clean. The price is right and the location is great. The grounds of this Motel are absolutely beautiful. A great place to stay, I'm for sure happy.
