An old motel in a good location that is very expensive, but then it is California. Our room was large, the bed was awful and needs to be replaced due to it being crushed on the sides. There’s no closet or even a hook for clothes. This is the first time I’ve been in a motel/hotel where there wasn’t a hair dryer. There’s no ice machine either. They’re dog friendly, but no place for your dog to relieve itself, which means walking down Ventura Blvd.
It does have on site parking, free Wi-fi and a small fridge and microwave!
Will I return, not likely.
Old but charming place. A little rundown but the room was very clean and quiet. There is an additional $20 per night for a dog but there is no place to walk the dog at in the area. I'd stay here again if I wouldn't travel with my dog.
Amazing value for the location, hotel seems to be very old so rooms seem updated but couldnt make the rooms bigger. One bad note is the carwash next door, they start playing gangsta rap very early, $50 cash deposit which you get back at check out
Good customized service , kind and quick, rooms are clean and smell good.
Just one thing , put more snacks and drinks machines😅
Okay, so I've crashed at this spot more times than I can count over the years, and rolling in this time, sick as a dog and in the middle of a downpour, I thought it was gonna be just another run-of-the-mill stay at the old Tokyo Princess. But, let's be real, since they've changed names, I haven't been exactly thrilled. This time, though, something was different. Once the rain let up and I actually looked around, I was like, "Okay, okay, I see you now."The place has had a facelift, and I've been eyeballing the new digs inside these rooms, trying to figure out how I felt about it all. It wasn't until I killed the overheads, flipped on the mood lighting, and snapped a few pics that it hit me – I'm actually into it. It works. Now, let's talk sheets because, for me, it's a big deal. It's not just about them being clean; it's about them having that extra something-something. The folks here must be putting some kind of magic in them because they've got this Zen vibe going on that smells just like that moment you walk into a spa for a massage. For me? That's the spot. The guy running the show? Way friendlier than before.
Toss in a hot tub and some continental breakfast, and this place would skyrocket past just being a budget-friendly option. Flipping the script from the old Tokyo Princess vibes to what we've got now wasn't easy, I bet.
So, here's saying goodbye to Tokyo Princess and her memories near and dear to me.
The Oak Tree? It's here, and it's slaying!
Watch out, competition.
This hotel room was dirty. The bed was covered in stains. The pillow had stains and makeup smears on it. I found several long black hairs in the bed. As well as in the "fresh towels" and not just 1 or 2 hairs. like 10 long black hairs in the towel. The 2nd towel I grabbed also had makeup stains. There were bugs crawling all over the shower. There were, like, graffiti tags carved into the furniture, like you'd find on the wall of a mall bathroom stall. The TV remote was covered in stains, greasy and was missing the back part over the batteries. It was literally taped together with packing tape. I think this may be the seediest hotel I've ever stayed in. I went to the supermarket next door and bought a fresh pillow and blanket to sleep on.
This was our second visit to this hotel. The room is a good size and the bed is very comfortable. But be prepared for the tiny restroom. There isn't much room for your "stuff" as the vanity is quite small. Also, there isn't a place to hang your clothes as there isn't a closet space to speak of. We decided to return because it's located near several restaurants and in close proximity to family whom we were visiting.
Pest warning! Booked for a friend and they left with bug bites all over! When I called to report it they were rude and didn’t even ask which room to check. Reporting to health department
