Slopes were perfect for our family of 6, with all different skill levels. It's not too big to get lost at, but more than enough trails to have fun. Staff was great. Onsite snow tubing is a great addition to the trip.
BEST FAMILY SKI MOUNTAIN! We had so much fun. I even brought my 1.5 year old, and the staff gave me a little toy for him to play on the snow close to the lodge for a bit. I love the trails here for my new-to-skiing littles! They had the best time, and we can't wait to go back. ❤️
Always a good time at Oak! The mountain isn't huge, but enough to keep the whole family happy for a day or skiing. The prices are very reasonable and I love the option of purchasing a beginner area ticket. We love making a day of it, and breaking for lunch at the Acorn Pub. And with the prices so reasonable you can slow down and take time to relax and enjoy a sit down meal without feeling like you need to ski every second to "get your money's worth."

This is a great novice-friendly mountain. The staff are courteous, and the tickets/rentals work like an well-oiled machine. The snow has been consistently well-groomed. The bunny-hill is perfect for learning. The lodge and the bathrooms have been consistently clean. There's a nice variety of "Green" slopes for newer skiers to experience - from the generic "mostly straight" and wide, to the more gentle, "scenic route" type.
My husband and I got married at Oak Mountain back in May. Laura and team were incredible! They were so very accommodating throughout the entire process and did everything they could to make our day so special. Laura was so easy to work with. Due to COVID restrictions and our desire to have an intimate wedding, we were able to have our reception in the restaurant area of the venue. It fit our vision and our group of 27 perfectly! Our summit ceremony was beautiful and was so much fun for all. The food was SO delicious that we can't wait to visit the restaurant again. We couldn't have asked for anything more (even despite Mother Nature). The rain made the day that much more memorable (thank you for blasting the heat to dry & warm us all up in the lodge, Laura!). The Oak Mountain team was so flexible and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend Oak Mountain and the town of Speculator for your special day.
A very cute and fun place to ski! Very family friendly. My wife and I wound up skiing here after Gore sold out. Not all of the trails were open, but it was well worth it. I would definitely describe it as an authentic old Adirondack skiing experience. This place is perfect for beginners through advanced skiers.
While My Husband and older son went skiing/snowboarding.. My younger two and myself went tubing. Thank you for having such a wonderful place as it is very clean and the people were very friendly. If you are looking for a place that is easy on the pockets this is the place to be. Great views when skiing on top..
Super fun area for kids of all ages! Creative Halloween decorations and scavenger hunt styled self-directed activity (in October) while peering into Route 66 village buildings. Thank you for such a creative way to entertain weary traveling children!

Stopped at Timberline for a coffee while traveling through the ADK. Excellent place to grab fresh, homemade food and delicious coffee drinks. This will be a regular stop for us when traveling in the area. Highly recommended.
