First time ever being in this town, and staying at this hotel was a nightmare. We didn't even last an hour. We asked for a king bed when I called, they stated okay and when it came time to checking in We got our room and we had washed our hands and sat down. The room smelled terrible the window was open upon arrival and I called back and spoke to own of the owners about there not being a king size bed, they don't even have them, he then rudley stated if I didn't like the room to come back and get my money back. So as I went to check out the women came out screaming stating if I used the room she wasn't giving any money back. She checked the room and stated bc I used a towel and sat on the bed she wasn't giving any of my money back. I told her fine I'm leaving and the older gentleman stated give them some of their money back take $20 dollars for cleaning the room. Never in my life have I had anybody scream at me like she did. I'm thankful that they did give money back but never in my life in a small town been treated like this. Stay somewhere else even if you pay more.
More than a year ago I stayed at this establishment for 5 days. The rooms were clean, the location was ideal and the owners were really nice to me. I would definitely recommend this motel if you're looking for a quiet and clean room to rest in.
The Owner Is Too Old To Maintain This Property. Rooms Need To Be Re Modeled And Uograded. Screen Door To The Room Was Broken And Didnt Shut Properly. Also The One Window In The Room Was Stuck Open A Few Inches. Way Over Priced For What They Offer
I couldnt have been more pleased with the room or the service. Randy and Elizabeth are down to earth couple who do a great job of making you feel at home and like you're truly welcome here. The room was comfy, cozy and neat as a pin. It is easy to tell this is a couple that cares about what they do and how they do it. I'd highly recommend anyone coming down this way, skip the rest and head straight to Oak Crest!
As soon as we arrived the staff was friendly. Made us feel at home and if there was any way they could make our stay better to let them know. We were recommended restaurant's that were right near the motel and not far from attractions. Rooms were comfortable and clean. No complaints. Able to connect to WiFi to do some work. Would come back in a heartbeat.
Friendly and efficient staff. The evening desk clerk has been the same each time I've stayed in the last year and he gets you quickly checked-in and then calls later to make sure all is well with the room. The location is great - Right on Main ST. There are two restaurants within walking distance. Other restaurants and shopping are just down the road. The rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfortable, the wireless internet is fast and easy to connect to, great work desk space. "A great family place in an interesting little town. There are tons of things to do in the hotel itself, be as active or as lazy as you like or walk a block to a local tavern and..."Always a pleasure" "Rooms are well equipped, offering plenty of room for an extended family visit.
We stayed in an extended stay for $1000 a month. We intended to stay there until we found a rental in the area. During winter months there was not much available in the area. We moved in the first of January, the first morning my fiance woke up and discovered numerous bites. We had nowhere to go and no transportation so we decided to wait and see if it was maybe a spider, we hoped that was the case as we had all our blankets, baby stuff, and clothes with us. After a few days we discovered more and more bites. However I was unable to see any bugs. We then confrontex the owner and we were instantly blamed. He refused us a refund. After going back to the room he came back and said we could have back what was left after a weeks charge which was 640 he said with taxes. We had to have a ride from sparta come get us which took a few days she came and he wasn't available to give us a refund so we had to stay another night. In the end he only gave us 500. We ended up out all that money, and a lot of our belongings. It was a traumatic experience. Him and his wife were very rude in such a sad situation. I don't recommend. And I pray he will do families right in the future.
I love it I just wish I didn't have to walk lobo for miles cause he's only allowed in the back by a bunch of pine trees and 2 dogs barking at him. He is not allowed to do it in the front. That's my only concern about living here. Otherwise 5 stars.
