Review: I had the pleasure of having Kristin from the ICU floor 3 take care of my mother during her recent hospital stay, and I cannot say enough positive things about her exceptional care. Kristin was not only extremely attentive to my mother's needs but also went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and at home. She and the staff were amazing. From the moment she walked into the room, Kristin exuded warmth and compassion, creating a calming presence that instantly put my mother at ease. She took the time to listen attentively to my mother's concerns and preferences, ensuring that her care was personalized and tailored to meet her specific needs. Throughout my mother's stay, Kristin demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and expertise in providing medical care. Her attention to detail was evident in every aspect of her work, from administering medications to monitoring vital signs with precision. What truly set Kristin apart was her genuine kindness and empathy towards my mother. She not only tended to her physical well-being but also provided emotional support and companionship when needed, she is like family now . My mother often remarked how much she appreciated Kristin 's presence, describing it as a source of comfort during a challenging time. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Kristin for anyone seeking compassionate and skilled nursing care. I had an unfortunate but necessary visit to Winthrop University Hospital ER Monday afternoon... The staff were very thorough and professional, helpful and kind and very patient with me and all the people who were there. I eventually was admitted and although it wasn't what l was hoping for obviously the staff made it a bearable experience. The night staff, Mike in particular were wonderful and helpful and extremely attentive. The team of Dr's and the learning interns were also very amiable and professional. No one wants to stay in the hospital but the staff made it a decent experience. Thank you 😊

We've been waiting in the emergency room for over four hours at the recommendation of my mother's primary care physician. During this time, my mother requested assistance to use the bathroom and asked for medication to relieve a persistent headache. However, upon ringing the call bell, Nurse Nicole was rude, dismissive and who worked under the supervision of Dr. Amil Badoolah informed us that we should stop using it because she was busy with other patients. It's disappointing that, in this day and age, healthcare professionals would treat patients in such a dismissive manner.

The staff in the PICU saved my life, and their kindness + knowledge of my situation was phenomenal! Each staff member went above and beyond for me & my family. Dr. Mei, Dr. Matthew, and Dr. Gildengorn were beyond amazing and MOST importantly Nurses; Sam P, Liz, & Carolyn were the best of the best!!! They were SO compassionate and caring

I went to the ER with my dad because he had an accident. I’m with my son and hasn’t eaten in hours so I take him out for pizza. When I get back they don’t allow my 17 year old son because he is too young even though he got a pass and was let in before several times. When I tried explaining they just said to wait in the main building but that is not even connected to the ER! Unbelievable!!!

On June 14th I was admitted to NYU LANGONE HOSPITAL LONG ISLAND due to pre eclampsia. I was abut 7 months pregnant and my husband and I didn’t know what to expect and were in fear for our baby and my well-being. I am a patient care assistant and I work for an NYU office in Queens and I would say with over 15 years of experience in healthcare I know how a facility should be run. Many people in my life would describe me as hard to please and critical of healthcare management and care. However for the 1 week I was in the hospital I experienced nothing but professional, humble, caring and selfless nurses, transporters, doctors, reception, security, housekeeping and food service employees. All these people cared for me with the utmost respect and care. They made my time there fearless and made my husband and I feel safe. My daughter Michaela was born and taken to NICU and not once were we hesitant that she would not be in the best of care. Upon my discharge of course I was sad to go home without my daughter but it was made easier knowing she was with people that actually cared for her. I have no complaints at all just appreciation and respect for everyone that cared for me. I visit the NICU everyday since my discharge and face the same love from the whole NICU department caring for my daughter currently. Below are a few people that made an impact on me and if I don’t mention a few names I am sorry. Dr Rekawek, Dr French, Dr Wulwick, RN Donna, RN Jaime, RN Ashley, RN Laura, RN Irina, RN Chris and of course everyone else I failed to mention, these are just a few names on top of my head. A big thank you to Dr Sicuranza. I have never felt in better in hands in my life. I appreciated her expertise and her confidence in my care. I know God sent her to me that day and made sure I was in good care and so was my baby. I can never repay her for saving me and my baby. I will forever pray for her well being and the light God gives her to make decisions for her patients daily. Again thank you to everyone that cared for me and my baby my husband and I are forever grateful to all of you. Please continue your hard work. Very surprised that this place is “NYU” Night staff in the labor & delivery section seem to have an attitude always..they did not follow my birth plan that I had filled out. Only the day staff took attention. RN Aisha was probably the worst nurse I had throughout. Was not a help & seemed to hate her job. What type of hospital runs out of pads for postpartum healing?? No showers in the postpartum rooms, their PP recovery rooms weren’t that great except the L&D room..

Not without a few issues. My elderly husband had a subdural hematoma from a fall. The trauma team is great, and he had a good outcome thanks to the care of these dedicated professionals. I'm not a fan of the general "team" approach for patient care. Too many people involved, too many people to try to reach. I spoke to one to one doctor during his entire hospitalization (10 days) unless I requested to speak to one and then it was a phone call from a PA. Out of frustration, I insisted a dr come to the room and the head of neurosurgery came up. He was great and compassionate. The ED is MADNESS! Too busy for its own good. We were "lucky" and only spent 7 hours in there before getting a room. Additionally, I dont appreciate every single nurse or doctor is always looking at a screen, not at a person, but thats "progress." Not a fan of the case manager we had, Jen. I felt her goal was not to place the patient in the best possible place for his particular care, just get him out. She was unfamiliar with many of the rehabs. She could not answer many of my questions and deferred to others, instead of finding out the answer. In other words, she was not doing her job as she should have. The nursing staff in the SICU and on 4 North were amazing. Special shout out to Daniel in SICU. My husband loved him. Also Andrea, Susan and many of the staff on 4N that I cannot recall the names of. A special nurse on the overnight shift....I wish I remembered his name was a favorite. Michael an aide I believe, made both myself and the patient uncomfortable. One of my biggest gripes about NYU Langone is the food. It is basically inedible. Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe it. Imagine salmon in a hospital? OMG I can still smell it. If youre reading this, I wish you a good experience. ***UPDATED Another trip back to NYU Winthrop 3 weeks later. This time the patient needed emergency surgery for rebleed of the subdural hematoma at 1am. The trauma team was exceptional, and compassionate. They did an amazing job and helped me greatly through a very difficult and stressful time. Again the nursing on the SICU was very professional. Unfortunately they dropped the ball when they moved my husband without letting me know why that was appropriate, and what his condition was. I walked into the SICU to find the cleaning staff breaking down his room. Not a good feeling. I found the PA and got an update. I went to see the patient, and about 20 minutes later I got a call from Evan, a nurse from SICU telling me they were going to move the patient. Five minutes after that the discharge planner "Jen" was back in the room. Her supervisor Kathleen and HER supervisor Erica are both gruff, combative, rude and indifferent. Jen actually said to me "he's cleared for discharge, we have an accepting facility, if you dont like it, appeal. Pickup is at 4:30." Discharge planning/ case mgt staff needs to explain things to families without being so rude and uncaring. I swear they work on commission.
