Novellus - New American restaurant in St Charles - 201 N Main St, USA

Very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The service was great, waitress was very polite and friendly, we loved that ! Food was also good. Simple, and homemade. Great place for a quick brunch. On the negative we thought the menu was a little pricey. We had the omelet with potatoes and biscuit.

Food was good. Staff was super nice. We had a staff meeting there in one of the side rooms and it was the perfect spot. Hoping they get some non coffee drinks on the menu for breakfast / brunch. Was hoping for a hot tea, or Chai tea latte.. otherwise it was great. Will definitely be back

Parking was available in public garage ( free on weekends & after 3:30PM) Environment was calming and welcoming! However, very disappointed with the food ..food was cold, had to send it back several times because it was fixed incorrectly! Waitress was overwhelmed as she had too many tables for one person! None of the drinks stated on the menu was available! Overall, I would give this place a second try because it wasn’t the best and maybe it was just the day.

Super cute, unique setting, great craft cocktails and delicious brunch selections. We had the biscuits and gravy and the hot chicken and waffles. Aside from the potatoes being a bit under cooked, everything was really delicious and perfectly portioned. I would definitely go again if I am in the area. I loved the library setting and the display of books on the tables. Our service was outstanding !

This restaurant is great!! The drinks and food…AMAZING!! My husband and I both had steak, different types, but were both AMAZING. The bartender was so sweet and attentive. Was not exactly what I was expecting for a brunch place. Our server was outstanding, and the food was acceptable, but nothing that'll make me come back right away. Or make a special effort to come here. Some suggestions? Hot tea is great to offer for brunch. Make sure your waffles are not so dried out, and portion sizes need to be increased slightly for the prices charged.

Met friends here. First thing I noticed was the noise level. As people left, it quieted down. Food took 1/2 hr or more, even though there were only 2 or 3 other tables. I had soup & half salad. Wrong salad delivered, so more waiting. Soup was warm (not hot) & salty. One friend had eggs Benedict & enjoyed it. Everything else was just OK. Fish & chips served without tartar sauce or ketchup - took another 5+ min for those to arrive. Not impressed with this place.

We had a private party, our server Chloe was absolutely fantastic.. attentive and very friendly.. everyone’s had great food and bottomless mimosas, it was excellent.
