Northwood Family Restaurant - Family restaurant in Oden - 4769 Oden Rd, USA

Great spot for families and large parties. Came here on a busy Sunday night over the 4th of July weekend and even amidst all that mayhem we were treated like gold. Some of the best comfort food in the area - highlights this time included the Chicken Fried Chicken, Seafood Pasta, and the Seafood Chowder. Drinks are strong and well priced, staff is friendly and efficient.

We rode our bicycles up the NW State Trail from Petoskey. Glad we did! Stopped by the Northwood Family Restaurant for lunch. It was great! Northwood is a hidden gem right off the trail in Oden Mi. Watch for the blue building. A very nice inside seating area, a bar, quality furnishings, clean, great food and service! I appreciate cloth napkins, nice plates and silverware. They even place real butter on the tables. Fish & chips was awesome! Onion rings were the best! BTW, the tall draft beer is 25 ounces. The mugs bring a smile to your face! This place was a welcome respite after a long day of holiday travel. The staff was welcoming and friendly to our tired and hangry brood. We were served dinner rolls while we waited for our food- who does that anymore? The place was decorated so cute and cozy for the holidays. And the food was really really good. I got the beef and gravy and it was made with good quality beef, mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked broccoli (not mushy!). Comfort food at its best. We were quite a ways from home but the kids and I agreed -it would be worth traveling back for!

Tried this place for lunch takeout. Seems like a “fish and chip” place but I don’t like fish/chips unless you are in a Pub in Great Britain. Wait staff that greeted me was very nice. Soup and salad were the options. Salad was good but they had it packaged like it was being sent across the country. I put it all in a different container and mixed it up. Soup was not so great. I’ll come back and give the rest of the menu a go….

Absolutely delicious! I had the Caribbean chicken sandwich with onion rings. Let me tell you if I could drive back for dinner tonight I would! 10/10 hands down yummy! Will definitely be back! Service was quick and friendly. Very clean. 10/10!

We had a great experience on Labor Day. The service was outstanding. Thank you Megan! Food was great. The fried mushrooms were hand battered as advertised and the best I've had, anywhere. We all had fish dishes and all left full and happy. Could use an update and a few maintenance improvements. Definitely recommend.

One of my favorite restaurants. We've been going here for over 15 years with my parents mostly but by ourselves as well. The menu is very kid friendly although my kids are all teenagers now. The fish is excellent as are many of the other entree's. One of the few places where you get a choice of soup or salad and a potato and a vegetable as part of your meal.

It was late on a Sunday evening and we were on the hunt for a restaurant, well we wondered into Northwood family restaurant and even though it was less than an hour to closing we were promptly seated and served. The fried mushrooms were so delicious I highly recommend them if you like mushrooms. I had the burrito it was also very delicious. Many of my family in the area really like this place and I see why. I recommend this place if you're in the area.
