Northgate Inn - Motel in Saginaw - 6300 Bay Rd, USA

This place puts cleanliness first. Everything in my room was very clean, the microwave the refrigerator, the sink, the toilet, the tub, the floors and yes the bed. The air smells clean and doesn’t smell like cigarette smoke or any other nasty odors. It comes with a tv and it also comes with an old phone which does not work but then again most people use their cell phone. I didn’t see any mold or deterioration on the walls. The air conditioner works but it’s missing its power button so you’ll have to use something like your keys or a pen to push the red off/on button. The toilet takes a very long time to fill up for the next flush so if someone goes in immediately after someone uses it it won’t flush. As far as bugs there were absolutely no harmful bugs such as bed bugs, fleas, or roaches. There were a few lightning bugs flying around my room at night but these bugs are awesome and are completely harmless. There was also one spider that I saw in the bathroom right before I checked out for the day but even they are completely harmless and really aren’t a cause for concern. It was definitely worth the $60 per night and if I’m ever in Saginaw again and need an affordable place to stay I will definitely choose this place again. I highly recommend them. I stayed in room 122.

Absolutely the worst hospitality I have ever encountered. I was leaving a bad situation at home. So I rented a room for the night and had asked about a weekly rate, He said $300. I paid fifty dollars for the first night due to being fifty dollars short to rent the room for a week. He said I could have until six o'clock that evening to bring the fifty. I decided I was too tired to drive any longer, so just did 1 night. Thank God because the room was dirty, the toilet was clogged, The sheets had blood on them and the refrigerator was sticky and disgusting. I had most of what I own in my jeep, which I brought in the room to organize. Check out was 11 o'clock. I called and asked the lady if I could have until one o'clock and I was gonna come back and rent for a week. They would not allow me an extra hour. So as I packed my things , the man stood in the doorway and told me he would call the cops if I wasn't out in ten minutes. He would not allowme to shut the door and he would not step in the doorway. It was windy and freezing cold. This is the same man who gave me a smiIe and a wink when i checked in the day before And also said I could have 3 hours to go and get the money.. Now that his wife was there He was definitely not so friendly. And the woman on the phone didn't speak very good English, was rude and had no compassion when I told her I was leaving a domestic violence situation. HORRIBLE!!!

This place should be closed and definitely not charge 110.00 after fees. Getting early arrival was hard to communicate on the phone. Upon arrival the ice machine was literally broke and were told to buy ice next door(liquor store). Upon entering our room the main light switch bulb burned out. We informed the owner. The room was so outdated and worn. No upkeep has been done for years. I started taking pictures. The next day after our outing we found the air fan was not working, light bulb not replaced or our room made or clean towels. We reported our desires. Amazing the breaker he checked flipped on and I heard it running. Did he turn it off while we were gone? My patience ran out.

I'm here right now, staying 2 night's. I'm a family of 6 an we fit comfortably in a room with two beds. It's not the Hilton but heck it serves it purpose. It's in convenient location. Cottage inn delivers food and late at that. Don't over think support a small business. This hotel is the bees knees. Don't look at the hate people write and come stay at the Northgate Inn in saginaw.

This place is great for the price. I paid around $60 for a room for the night, and was pleasantly surprised. The room was dated but clearly kept up, as it was clean and well taken care of. Clean sheets, solid bed, and it also had a mini fridge and a microwave, which I was not expecting. It is a great affordable place to stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by by my overall experience at the Northgate Inn north of Saginaw. Clean niced sized room with TV and Wifi. It's a motel so don't expect xtra amenities or creature comforts. I found it to be a clean quiet motel. Within a mile are numerous shopping and restaurants possibilities right on Bay St.

The entire carpet was damp. The mattress pad wasn’t attached to the mattress. You can hear and feel the springs even just sitting on the mattress. There was not fitted sheet, just a plain sheet which didn’t even cover the mattress. The sheet was stained red. Each bed only provided 3 terrible pillows. The sheet situation was where there are two blankets/quilts on top of a sheet, which makes me question how often these things actually get washed. There were forehead sized dents in the wall. Both nights we were woken up by banging against the wall from the room next door. The shower barely produced water and what it did was freezing cold. The same piece of “art” appeared 3X in the room. No variety. The hair dryer didn’t work. No iron was provided. We had to throw ourselves against the door after swiping our key because the door wouldn’t budge. The cleaning staff was very rude to us when they woke us up in the morning. The cleaning staff only switched out the towels. The “continental breakfast” is two half-empty things of cereal. The front desk staff was behind glass. We never saw the hot tub but fear what diseases lie within it. It was 10 degrees outside and we still considered sleeping in the car because this place was SO nasty. I would not recommend this hotel to any traveler but I would recommend it for a health inspection.

This was actually the 2nd time I stayed here. The 1st time I stayed there a younger guy was working in the office and enjoyed my stay so booked a room there again. This time the older guy was working in the office. I was staying there with my 2 children. When I checked out the room everything was fine until I said I wasn't staying there with a man, that it was just me and my children. Then he started talking to me like I was a bad person or something, saying multiple times that it was a nice motel and that they didn't want any trouble and I couldn't have any visitors which I didn't plan on anyways. I'm guessing it has something to do with him being an Arab and their beliefs that women are inferior and shouldn't be without a man. Then when I was bringing stuff in the room, he actually told me that I had brought enough stuff in and didn't need to bring in anything else (all I had to bring in so far was my purse and my baby's diaper bag). I couldn't even bring in our clothes for the night. Me and my kids come to Saginaw every weekend to visit family and would've been a weekly guest but now I will never book a room here again. It's really there loss as I'm a perfect customer as we always stay 2 nights, are gone during the days only coming to the room to sleep, clean the room spotless before we leave, and still leave a tip for housekeeping. Needless to say after how I was treated, I didn't clean at all and did not leave a tip. Because of his petty attitude, he lost out on a good and regular customer.
