Northey Street House Bed and Breakfast - Featured Reviews (73)
We can not be happier with our week long stay. Flora was a gracious host. Her home is meticulously clean. Very well stocked and spacious. This home was 3 or 4 blocks from the hustle and noise of the tourism. Very quiet but close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go all week. Great breakfasts! Very helpful with advice on our travels and tours! We stayed in a 3rd floor room with a balcony over looking the homes emaculate garden. Flawless vacation stay at this B&B!
I highly recommend the Northey Street House! Flora was absolutely fantastic! She made delicious breakfast breads with fruit and omelettes and sausages each morning, and was very friendly with great activity recommendations! The location was an easy stroll into the heart of downtown, but was nice and quiet for sleeping. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We will certainly be staying here again when next we visit Salem!
We loved our stay and Flora is a great host. We made ourselves at home with access to the kitchen. Flora is very knowledge about the area and makes some delicious treats and breakfast. Close walk to downtown. We will stay again if we are in the area. Don’t delay, stay here today. :)
This B&B is in the perfect location: walking distance to just about everything yet on a quiet street. The rooms are comfy and private. Flora is an excellent host who has thought of everything. We stayed in the Captains room which is very nice and breakfast each morning was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
Flora is a great hostess and share her beautiful home (and historical house!) with guests with comfortable rooms, delicious homemade breakfast, free parking and wifi. All of that for a fair price and walking distance for Essex street (10 min). She also has great knowledge of the city and she's happy to share historical facts over homemade quiche and marmelade. :) Merci Flora!
Northey Street House has been our go-to for lodging in Salem for almost fifteen years! Not only is the location convenient to our family in the neighborhood, but it is easy walking distance to downtown and to Salem Station and public transportation options. If we choose to drive, there is off-street parking! Then there is the superior quality of comfort and atmosphere of each of the sleeping rooms! Flora’s breakfasts are a wonderful start to the day with juices, coffee, fresh fruit, varied baked goods and eggs prepared to order. Flora is so friendly and hospitable: we always look forward to catching up with her.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay @ the Northey Street House. The proximity to everything Salem is excellent, walking distance to everything - the train station, downtown, museums, etc.
The accommodations were great very relaxed. Room was good sized, access to a living room, kitchen - homey feel.
Our host, Flora was outstanding - made a great breakfast every morning. We had great conversations about the home, history of Salem and what sites to see, as well as the overall area in general.
When we come back to Salem - we will be staying at the Northy Street House again.
Our stay was exquisite. The host was so lovely, we truly enjoyed chatting with her over breakfast each morning. And the breakfast itself was delicious. Omelets, scones, muffins, chia pudding… everything we had was divine. Our room was on the third floor, so bear that in mind if you have a lot of luggage or need an accessible space, but we had no trouble with it. The stairs themselves are carpeted so no tripping! Everything was beautifully decorated with splendid little touches all around. Everything in our room was so thoughtfully prepared, and it felt like home. The location was great too, very close to everything we wanted to see and do, and the town is extremely walkable so we only had to Lyft/Uber when we decided to sleep in and were running late 😅. Also, just as an odd side note from a couple where both people love to check their outfits, there were THREE full length mirrors in the room! We could both make sure we were cute without competing for mirror space lol. Bed was super cozy, and our host was very easy to contact for any questions and she shared great recommendations with us for restaurants in the area.
Our first time in Salem, our first witch trial tour and the Bewitched tour was the highlight of our visit. Our guide Sarah did a wonderful job of sharing history of the witch trials, the town, the people, some trivia and the period in an engaging ent
Falafel sandwhich. As soon as I bit into it I swear my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Great portion size. The price is right for how tasty it is, honestly. You just have to try it. Service was incredible. The crispness was crazy good. My taste b

Amazing exhibition. Beautiful story, both authentic and humbling experience. Being able to walk through this house and hear the historical commentary was like being transported back in time. A must see if you are in the area.
