Northern Town Motel - Motel in Janesville - 1409 Center Ave, USA

The worst motel experience ever. The lady gave me hell about toilet paper. Then told me that I would only get some every other day.||She asked to smell my room because as she put it i was gone for two days. I go to church on Sundays and spent time with family. Talk about an invasion of privacy. And then threatening me saying do you want to check out. I said yeah I'll be working on that. Y'know for someone who is getting paid surely is disrespectful.||I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you plan on paying for your own toilet paper when you are on a vacation or being threatened and having your privacy disrespected.

The lady that runs it is a little tyrant. I stayed for a week. One night I was just sitting there watching TV and I heard something out my window, I opened the curtain and there she was walking in the snow around the backside of building. I asked her what are you doing, she goes I know you smoking in room. I said lady I don't smoke, the next day at 9 am the phone rings, I hear you stay, I said no thank you, i found a much cheaper place. That's more private. Oh another trick she pulls is no single beds avail. Just so she can get that extra money. When there is singles empty. Oh and every morning she would knock on the door, just to be snoopy. And if you have a room with floor heat , it doesn't come on till 9pm. So your room is cold in winter time during the day.plus you cant even turn on the a/c unit till they flip a breaker, I asked her why my a/c didn't work, she goes not hot enough for that to be running. Who is she to determine my comfort level.orher than that good luck. It's not worth staying there if you want any privacy.

We don't have a problem with older "Mom & Pop" motels when they're kept clean and updated. Not this one. We were passing through Janesville and just needed an overnight spot to sleep so reserved a room. Arrived after 9pm so we couldn't leave. I posted several pics. The furniture tops were sticky-dirty (ick!). The carpet must be at least 30 years old and disgustingly dirty. Somebody's eyeliner was on the bathroom sink, so it obviously wasn't cleaned. We didn't want to take a shower because were pretty sure that we'd come out worse than we started. We just wanted a clean place to sleep, paid $65, and it was disgusting. Really, we just can't say anything nice about this experience.

The rooms are decent. But the 10am check out is a little different. The housekeeper who started knocking at my door at 9:30am made me, not want to revisit. She wants very nice at all.

We rented from the northern town hotel and was only there for 1 hour in janesville and stains on the floor and on the bed sheets we ended up getting new sheets from them and there was a bed bug on it. Me and my husband and kids got out of there as soon as possible and had to wash are clothes. We have seen some of the reviews that say they don't have bug but they do. And they have bug bate on the walls and floor. They say that people bring them in but we didn't have them when we moved out from being with family now we seem to see them there. And we will never recommend anybody to stay there. Cheap motels or hotels you really have to look close what you are getting. Just be careful everyone. The only thing that place is doing good is that it is in a great location.

Make no mistake, this is a 'no frills' motel. But it is clean, quiet, priced right, has comfortable beds, a good tv, and I felt very safe staying there alone. Perfect if you don't want to spend a lot. I got a good night's sleep, and that's all that matters to me.

This is the worst place I've stayed ever!. Disgusting!! beds hard as the floor, flat hard pillows, no coffee pot or hair dryer or soap/shampoo, etc..., the refrigerator did not work, the air conditioner was in the upper part of the wall by the ceiling and was held in the wall with duct tape!, it did not have the correct knobs on it so it was hard to figure out what was just a fan running and what was cooling, basically it did not work and it was 80 some degrees outside. There are no blinds on the windows, just some very thin curtains that have zero light blocking. We wanted to turn and run but there was nowhere else to go, all hotels were booked, and you could tell that once the place had your money, you were not going to get it back. Luckily we only needed one night but I did not sleep at all, next time I'm in that situation, I will just sleep in my car.

The owners are very nice and place is clean, smells good. Love my bathroom huge walk in shower. Weekly rates are cheaper than most. For the price it worth it to me.
