Had an amazing, unexpected time here. My son and I went to walk the trail. We found the train museum open, stopped in to check it out, came across two volunteers working inside, and had the best conversation. During our conversation, this lovely couple told us all about the Santa train ride and directed us next door to find out more. As we walked from one building to the next, the rain was like a monsoon. My son and I were not able to walk the trail, so we decided to take a train ride. I was so unexpectedly surprised at how fun this was. We board the Overland Train (highly recommend), and it was like stepping back in time. Luxurious and spacious, this car was amazing. The conductor/ owner Bill was friendly and very inviting. Santa visited the train car and spent time with each child and family while engaging in conversation and posing for pics! What an experience for children of all ages. The train ride was about an hour and was very relaxing. Ask about the house where Abraham Lincoln stayed! It sits along the tracks. Fun fact: Lincolns funeral train rode along those rails. Anyway, once you arrive at the station, Mrs. Claus has hot chocolate and cookies waiting for you! There was a beautiful train garden that showed the town as it would have looked in the past. Very cool! The price was very, very fair for the experience and what was included. O, did I mention Santa gave the kids a little gift! This is o e you definitely don't want to miss. We took our granddaughter on the Santa Express. It was a nice ride for my granddaughter. The seats were comfortable. Santa came and visited with each child and gave them a little stuffed animal. The ride goes from New Freedom to Glen Rock and back. Upon returning, Mrs Clause is waiting in the station with hot chocolate and a cookie. They had trains set up inside plus souvenirs but when 200 people get off the train and head inside, it is overly crowded. That is my only negative. Maybe set up the cookies and hot chocolate outside

Such an amazing experience! The staff was so accommodating kind & caring especially with my Dad in a wheelchair! Vicky called the day before to explain the game plan, which executed perfectly! The ride was fun & entertaining!! Would definitely recommend!!! Thank you for making this a memorable outing!!

My wife and I are big railroad fans and love to ride on scenic railroads. This was our first trip on the Northern Central Railway and we enjoyed the entire experience. The people who work for the NCR are very friendly and we enjoyed your gift shop. We intend to come back for some of your longer excursions in the future.

We loved our Santa express train ride. Everyone was helpful and kind. The grandkids absolutely loved it!! I bought 14 tickets and one person was sick and unable to make it. They told me we would get a credit for a future ride. Please let me know how that works. Brian Stark

Had the best time on my very first train ride on the Northern Central Railway! I will definitely be back! Great history experience and all the staff were extremely nice and helpful!

All the volunteer staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Jody who is the Chair was more than happy offering to take people's picture and is a wealth of knowledge. She left us know our seats were tight when checking in. She found an empty seat and moved us. Thank you all!

I don't usually rate diversions but I can't say enough how this staff was overly accommodating and nice and the venue is something I have never experienced. Book in advance.
