My husband, sister, brother-in-law and I decided to try Northstar last night and was blown away. It’s not the fanciest place, but the food was EXCELLENT and the service was friendly and welcoming. Every dish served was so good. The owner was there and was super accommodating and sweet. If you want a casual, friendly atmosphere with really great drinks and food, this is your place.
Great ambiance, top service, delicious food. Our foursome enjoyed a great evening Monday Oct.16th at dinner. From starters to entrees, drinks and desert. My first time here, and I'll be back !
Excellent food, priced as such. Great service. Was there on a Thursday and they had a some great live entertainment.
Overpriced food for the experience. A $50 cod comes with a quarter cup of rice and 12 pea pods. $60 filet has zero side dishes. Mash potatoes are extra for $8. High ball cocktails are $15 with half a cup full of ice. $35 Schnitzel has a potato salad side with half a cup and a single breast of chicken.
Great food, well prepared but nothing pretentious. Casual and great service. Not a huge menu but there is something for everyone. We are from out of town but come here almost every time we visit family.

We live in North Stamford and had heard about Norh Star for awhile. We finally checked it out on a Tuesday night. Was a bit quiet but had a nice vibe. Good outdoor seating options too. The owner was our waiter that night. David was truly accommodating. When he heard it was our first time he brought us things to try and taste. You could tell he loved sharing his restaurant. The salads were delicious and desert was amazing. The food was very solid. We will back again soon!
As a policy, I do do not patronize restaurants that don't post menu prices online but decided to break from routine. Disappointingly, mostly every entree was over $30. I ordered anyway and it got worse as the portions were small. And I'm a light eater. The food was average, nothing to tell friends about. Service was good. I ordered a draft beer but got the same in a bottle. $175 later, my wallet felt lighter and so did my tummy.
