North End Beach located within Elk Neck State Park. Self pay $5 per person unless camping. Use your Campground pass for complimentary entrance. Beach area is yellow gravel sand; not beach sand. Suggest to wear water shoes with all the debris. Dogs were on the beach. No sign saying otherwise. Saw one dog waste station connected to informational sign. Bathrooms had showers & changing booths. Picnic areas with grills in several locations around the large parking areas.

I come here at least once a year. I live about 2 hours away and it’s closer than going to NJ or OCMD. I like it because it’s sand and water and usually not super crowded. Having said that, the sand isn’t the same ocean sand at the beaches. It’s a little less fine and soft. There’s driftwood and rocks mixed in from the river. I usually don’t get in the water and I’d suggest bringing water shoes because this is a river shore and there are rocks/stones at the shoreline and into the water. Once you get in the water, you’re gonna have rocks for a bit and you probably will see seaweed, maybe some dead fish and stuff. Again, it’s a river, at this point you haven’t quite made it to the bay. Parking is a paved lot and there are alot of spots but if you come on a weekend it probably will be crowded. I usually go in the middle of the week. This year it was a Wednesday around 12p when I arrived and it wasn’t crowded at all. There is a public restroom with a couple showers but it is not fancy.

Good place to spend the day. But there are rocks on the bottom of water and this day there was lots of grass in the water.

A storm had just hit earlier in the week so there was a bit of debris. But despite that it still was very enjoyable. It's a small area but it wasn't crowded. The bathrooms on site were very clean. Playground, not so great. That's the one drawback. Much of the playground has been taken away, unfortunately. Not sure why. Just two swings and a slide (inside of a wooden boat structure). Wish there was more.

Love coming to the Bay I go maybe once a week. I was there Monday with my neighbor who has never been there. Hector (Bay keeper/ security) was awesome he had a connection with the people on the beach he even was asked to be in a video with some of the swimmers. And I would of gave a five star just for that but later on a young man that closed the Bay definitely wasn't Hector made me feel VERY uncomfortable when he followed me into the women's bathroom and started to pickup trash as I stood in front of the mirrors with just my bath suit trying to understand why he was there with me. I told him the men's bathroom outside had trash all around it so he would leave. VERY WEIRD AND UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION.

Not the best place for weekend. Very crowded and noisy. People don't respect others: smoke cigarettes, speak loud, bring their dogs and makes barbeque right on the beach. Will not come here again!

This is a poor man’s beach. Supposedly run by the state but beach appeared un kept. Crowded and sand was pretty much dirt, dead wood and rocks. Water was warm enough to swim in but felt unsanitary due to surroundings. Other yuck was entrance did not accept credit cards (only cash) or go to campsite and purchase day pass using card. bathrooms were closed and portapoties was only available. Lastly, no water (at least I did not see any) to clean feet. Thankfully I had gallon water in trunk. Fortunately 2 year old was unaware and happy to wade in.

It was pretty on the sand with the sun shining, but the rocks are no joke. Make sure you wear shoes!! The water is very warm and full of grass, others may not mind that but I couldn't enjoy myself with it getting all over me. It smelled really fishy too. Once I got out of the water the flies were horrible, literally all over me biting non stop! On the plus side It was only 5 bucks to get in and it wasn't crowded at all. As long as you bring bug spray and water shoes you should enjoy yourself, I just wasn't prepared for my first trip here. The sun didn't come back out after I got in the water too- so this was just a no go for me 😬.
