I had an amazing time at North Bar Lake! The natural beauty of this place is breathtaking. The crystal-clear waters and pristine sandy beach create a perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyment. The hiking trails around the lake offer stunning views and opportunities to connect with nature. The serene environment is ideal for picnics and spending quality time with family and friends. The facilities, including clean restrooms and well-maintained picnic areas, added to the convenience of the visit. It's a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts and anyone looking to unwind in a peaceful and picturesque location. Highly recommended!

What can i say a beautiful place to go. Clear water, clean beach with a walking trail and steps thru the dunes to the water.

I can't say enough amazing things about this absolutely beautiful, calm ,relaxing, breath taking place. If you want a secluded, warm waters, spot to play with the kids, have a beach outing or simply just to walk around and enjoy this IS YOUR SPOT right next to/off from Lake Michigan.

This is one of the most unique swimming lakes I've ever been to. It borders Lake Michigan with just the slimmest of sand bars separating the two. The North Bar Lake is 10 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan, and it's as calm as the moon. Lots of visitors had tubes or paddle boards, and it looked perfect. On the Lake Michigan side, enjoy the lovely smooth stones rolling up onto the shore. NOTE: the walk from the parking lot is long and takes a lot of commitment if you're lugging a lot of gear.

North Bar Lake Nature Preserve is sort of a two-for-one spot. You get a cute little lake, which is separated from Lake Michigan by a sand dune. It's been one of my favorite beaches, since I was a kid.

Beautiful spot! It's a little bit of a walk- if you have little ones or health issues just be aware of this, but if you take it slow I think you'll really like the end result. There's some nice shallow spots and when we went it was a hot day and not many people were there. Beautiful clear water 🌊

Often crowded during the summer, this is a great place to take children swimming. A trip in the off season is often rewarded with lots of beach entirely to yourself.

The road upto the park is closed during winters. You will have to walk a couple of miles (uphill hike and back was around 3mi) but totally worth the serene view with fewer people. Summers can get crowded so plan accordingly. $3000 fine for rescue if

Great hike. Raspberries were ripe along the trail for added fun. Blackberries should be ripe soon! Trail is a loop about 2 miles. Park service does a great job maintaining the trail.
