You might find the hostel looking great inside/outside but staying there, its a different story. At the moment for check in, there was someone laying in my bed. We realized that there were some homeless people that were living in the hostel. We felt not safe at all. The unlock system for rooms are noisy. It wakes the entire room at night. The lockers have the same problem. NO PRIVACY IN THE BATHROOM. People can open the door while you are showering. There is only a chain to lock it...
Guests are not respectful to each other. Talking loud on phone, answering phone calls in the middle of the night, grinding ice at midnight, smoking cigarette on the patio, etc.
The ambiance feels like an hospital, not a cool place to spend your vacation. Dont book there if you are expecting a refund.
We moved one night before our departure to HI Santa Monica. Best thing to do if you want to upgrade your trip in LA.
Please stay far far away from this place. No sense of security of your personal belongings- anyone in the same room can steal your things in just a glimpse of a second. Not safe either- others can get in through the back door very easily.
Also, good luck getting a good nights sleep if you catch a bad roommate.
Think again before your click book
Not only is the nightmare hellish and quite away from mainland Hollywood and the surrounding city commute area, this place is super confusing to find. Traveling here in the dark by bus? Good luck! I've missed it three times in a row just because it's so easy to drive past.
Then, my booking was apparently past by one night. As any courteous and professional business person would, the owner should have let me stay one night at this accommodation. Instead, he found me shivering on a patio bench I fell asleep in since I was not able to figure out checking in at midnight with a numerical padlock on the doors of this hostel institution. He said me not arriving on time was not a liability of the hostel and I was no longer allowed to sleep on the premises after the night of having slept on a bench, and proceeded to say no refunds will be considered, then started to walk away, as if he was doing me some sort of favor.
What a bizarre way to respond to such a harrowing checkin experience in the first place. I do not recommend and I am never coming back here. $50 for a shared bunk bed build on wooden tree house looking pods is not the budget friendly option this place thinks it is!
I found the place in wonderful condition...very kind people..very clean..great location..great price very comfortable...the neighborhood however...not so much..I had to run from a homeless man after he asked me for money and instead I bought him a Four dollar bottle of water and he threw it at me..hitting me with it and then he chased me. Go figure..but the Normandy hostel gets four stars from me. No wi-fi though at least not yet..
It was the worst place I've stayed in my life. It’s not safe or clean. There is no staff, and on the rare occasions she appeared, she was always rude. The kitchen utensils are beyond old and damaged, they don’t even have cups and the fridge is discusting. Also, they don’t solve any problems that might come. There was a problem with the fire alarm; they took it off and did not replace it. There was a disruptive person in my room (noisy, smoking, bringing strangers to our room), and nothing was done. The situation came to a point that I decided to leave and stay in another place. Moreover, one of the google 5 stars reviews is from the owner. I known this because it’s the same person I zelled to pay for laundry.
Do NOT stay here, especially if you are a woman because it is unsafe! They claim to have female only dorms, but they gave a room code to a man that entered the dorm and wouldn't leave! On top of that, they denied ANY kind of refund/compensation for an insanely dangerous situation!
DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT STAY HERE. I was booked in a female only dorm and they accidentally gave the code to our room to a man who then smoked weed in our bathroom! Scared me and my room mates to death. They refused any sort of refund. Rooms also had dog hair and were not the cleanest. Parking is non existent I had to park a good block away. Backyard is not blocked off, anyone off the street can walk around the property.
Clean place! The staff is very friendly as well.I love how each sleeping spot had your own lamp, charging outlet, hooks and curtains. Large closets in the room as well. The kitchen was.I enjoyed my stay there.
I love the environment at FBBCHLP! Everyone there is very supportive towards one another throughout the workouts and challenges. Iâve learned so much about my nutrition, mental health and physical strength. I would definitely recommend this place t
I was amazed by the authentic Japanese cuisine at UKA, and being Japanese myself, I believe this restaurant truly captures the essence of our culinary heritage. The chefs' attention to detail brought out flavors that transcended mere appearance, leav

I can't speak more highly of this amazing establishment. My friends and I came hungry and were treated to some of the most authentic and delicious plant-based / cruelty-free dishes. I ordered a little assortment and each one became my favorite!

Valentina and Helen are absolutely wonderful trainers. They always go out of their way to help everybody out: always giving adjustments to improve posture and performance. I always book a session when one of them is there. They also play great music.
My time at this gym has been nothing short of exceptional! I recently hit my 1 year anniversary and am proud to be a member of CrossFit Echo Park. At first I was hesitant about joining CrossFit in general due to thinking it was just a bunch of rugged
