Came here while visiting the Bishop Arts District and was immediately taken with the decor, followed soon by the pleasant personnel. We sat outside in their covered dining area and enjoyed a couple lamb dishes, along with the drink of the day. We started with potato & leek balanee, crunchy wonton-like exterior with a peppery soft filling adorned optionally with a minty spiced yogurt. The lamb was perfectly tender in both the Qalani Palau and the Korma. Mine was the lamb korma; the sauce was rich and flavorful, but not heavy- paired with lightly perfumed jasmine rice that was exactly the right texture. I shared the Tiramisu Martini with my wife, which was sweet and smooth and generous enough with the booze, with a cute pink heart drawn on the top. We finished off with a dessert whose name I forget, but was a silky cardamom-infused delight with a crushed pistachio garnish. No complaints whatsoever, and I look forward to bringing my wife here again. Forgive the pictures, I was into the food and forgot to take good ones.
The food is decent. The server gave some good suggestions. Flies kept landing on the food though due to bar being opened to the outside and people using the door into the dining room. Service to be honest, was lackluster, and very slow after we got our food. Everything is way overpriced and many entrees are the same as the appetizers but bigger. Food often comes out cold or lukewarm. Ambiance is very nice though.
Exotically delicious! The lamb shank fell of the bone... spices were out of this world! Note: I came on a Saturday, the restaurant opened at 1pm, not Noon
The Ghabili palao I ordered was simply delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the tender lamb complemented the fragrant saffron rice perfectly. The Chicken with Yogurt was absolute delight too. The cocktail was both unique and significant, crafted with care and attention to detail. I also tried Mantoo as the starter. It tasted unlike anything I had tried before. Although it was good but I may not be certain about having it again at this point.
We got the sampler, chicken on skewer, lamb korma, spicy chicken meatballs, simmered spinach over rice and a few other dishes. The place is beautifully decorated. The dishes well presented. The dining chairs are amazingly comfortable. Since the dishes are similar to the Nepalese Indian fare that my family frequently have, we couldn’t help comparing. I’m afraid Nora is no rival to our hometown Srinagar, but certainly not bad in anyway. We enjoyed our lunch enough.
I love this restaurant. I was intimidated by Afghan Food, and found as a average white Texan guy it was similar to good Grilled Mexican food, only BETTER. The grilled Beef Kabob is fantastic and served over the best Jasmine and Cherry rice ever . My Partner had the Chicken Yogurt ( Grilled chicken and grilled vegatables) with a white yogurt sauce that is wonderful.Do try this one. Split the Nora Salad...It's areal treat. The owner Matt makes his own humus and it's probably the best in town.
The Lamb was amazing in both dishes we had. It was tender and so flavorful. We had the The Qablani Palau and the Lamb Korma. The bar drinks are good and pack a punch. Definitely give it a try if you get the chance. The owner or manager was so kind and helpful with all our questions. The staff and everyone were great.
Very cute little restaurant with an outdoor patio sitting area. First time here and trying out different culture food was awesome. Bartender was very attentive and new the menu well. They do have happy hour. Chipotle Margarita was very refreshing 😋

I am so SO glad Jazzercise classes were on my Christmas list (and that they were gifted to me early). I was a bit nervous at first, but soon realized that the classes are FUN and there is absolutely no judgement. I feel stronger each time I leave! K
