Nomads Hotel - Hotel in San Clemente - 101 Avenida Serra, USA

Overall I would say this hotel is a charming quirky place that provides a fun experience for a cheap price. The service was beyond exceptional and definitely solidified this as a 5 star review. Kenny was so very welcoming and accommodating and made me want to return anytime I’m in San Clemente. I will say, it seems that the experience here varies strongly by what room you rent. My room was the “boat” room and it lived up to the name in the way that it was tight quarters with an extremely efficient use of space. This includes the toilet being in the shower. The boat room sits below the Nomads Canteen which is a fun popping place to visit and have access to (including a toilet not inside a shower) however you will hear everything happening in the Canteen above you from outside of the hours of 11pm-8:40am when it was quiet (this was a Saturday night). I loved the colors and decorations of the place, they made me feel immediately comfortable and fun, almost as if I was in a hostel but with my own private room. Overall, I would say if you are a young and flexible person looking for a bargain and fun experience and are willing to put up with the caveats mentioned above, Nomads Hotel is the place to stay in San Clemente.

I’m beyond impressed with the service, location, and cleanliness of this hotel. It’s right by the beach and there’s a few shops to browse through right down the street. And guess what?! It’s all walkable! The staff are friendly and you can ask for a beach towel too. AND LET ME TELL YOU. THE ROOMS!? Amazing. 5/5. Clean, comfortable, soft beds and pillows, the shower is separate from the toilet so you can always use the bathroom without having to worry about someone else taking up the entire bathroom. Great hotel experience, run don’t walk 😉.

I absolutely loved Nomads Hotel! The decor is fun and whimsical. The staff has clearly forethought every needed amenity - from the sound machine with the ocean sounds to the Keurig machine to the hair dryer and even ear plugs! The free drinks at the upstairs Cantina was a pleasant surprise, and we really enjoyed the delicious food they offered. The beds were comfortable, room temperature and cleanliness were ideal, and the darkness of the room allowed us to sleep really well. Parking was easy - as was the check-in procedure. I can’t wait to return for another visit - perhaps we will attend the Surf Camp next time!

Small but functional room at an excellent price. Exactly what I needed. Smooth, manual check in which was ideal. Really great location, close to some great restaurants and a short walk down the Main Street to the beach. The room comes with free beer tokens which is great as the bar upstairs has a great selection! Sad that I’m not here long enough for the surf camp as it looks like a great deal and there are some excellent surf spots nearby.

Great place to stay in San Clemente. We had the Bali room. We are a family of five, and with 3 beds we all slept very comfortable. The shower is amazing. Very nice restaurant upstairs, with great food and drinks. We would love to come back.

We had a soccer tournament and rented the Bali room, and it was perfect for our needs. Walking distance to gorgeous surf and swim beaches and surrounded by restaurants and shops. The rooms and bathrooms are quite spacious, clean, and in good condition. The wood floors and beach atmosphere are a nice touch. The staff is very nice and willing to go the extra mile. One thing to note, there is a bar upstairs that you will hear, but it quieted down by 10:30ish. The Canteen is a great stop for affordable dining in a fun environment.

This place is awesome. Yes, it's noisy upstairs, but our room provided earplugs and a sound machine - both of which weren't needed because the bar went silent around 11p. There's a free beach shuttle a block or two from the hotel that will bring you straight to the pier, and the restaurant above has great food (the hotel even provided 2 free drinks, which we happily accepted). Overall, this place was a fun deviation from the usual bland chain hotels. Also, we took up surf lessons for our kids with Debut Surf School (recommended by the hotel). It was an experience they'll never forget!

This was our 2nd visit to Nomads and we had a great time again!!!! We love the restaurant upstairs and enjoy the staff. Kenny was so on top of giving me all the information I needed to check in smoothly and quickly. We are always so impressed at how clean this property is. We appreciate Mica always taking care of our room!!! We will definitely be coming back as soon as we can. Next time I’m going to try and book The California room : )
