No 1 Chinese Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Elizabethtown - 318 S Poplar St, USA

First time here. Place looks like they configured it for the start of Covid and never removed any of the protections. No in house dining. I got the #21 Spicy Garlic Shrimp with fried rice and egg roll. Shrimp was not very spicy. It was almost too sweet. The fried rice seemed to be out of a box rather than real fried rice. They were edible, but not great. Egg roll seemed to be just cabbage inside. Pretty bland for me. Not sure I would go again.

Take out is the only option now. It had been since the buffet was still an option that I’d eaten at No. 1. I decided to try it out again. The chicken wings were hot, crispy, and good. The egg roll was hot and crispy, but super bland. It was nothing but cabbage. No pork, no carrots, no celery, just cabbage. The General Tso’s was just okay at best. Not super crispy and the sauce was really sour. If you’re in a pinch for take out, it’ll work. That said, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. It’s just okay.

The food is decently good, but the customer service is what brings me back. They are always so welcoming! We usually eat pretty healthy, but my kids love this as a fun dinner meal. They no longer offer online order with the option to pay at the store. With all the shellfish allergies in the house, we will no longer be dining here.

The pork fried rice tasted old and flavorless, the general Taos chickens has a soup of sauce, way too much, and it wasn’t spicy and tasted awful. I got the lunch special but was charged normaly and did not get N egg roll which I was supposed too. I’ve never had a bad experience at any fast food Asian place, but this place is awful

Just look at the pics. That's a FRIED bug in the lo mein. How disgusting would it be to find that in your box of take out? I know there aren't many options in the area...but come on. Really????? You should be ashamed of serving this to my son. Or anyone else for that matter. Bugs might be a delicacy overseas, but NOBODY here wants to eat a fried stink bug.

If it's not NO. 1, it's #2! Best Chinese take-out. Just wish the buffet would open back. 😩

No. 1 Chinese is really good, however I won’t be back until they re-open the buffet. I was getting take out during the fake pandemic, but have quit that. I live close by, but will not be coming back until it goes back to normal. I used to eat here regularly but not anymore.
